Status: offline 		Hi, someone referred the e8 cp1700 batteries on
http://www.eflightpacks.com/
and said they were zapped, on the bottom of the page it says these batteries are not zapped. The e8 cp1700 are $40.

Does anyone know where I can get zapped e8 or e10 cp1700 or cp2400. I need the e8 for my twinjet and the e10 for my Mini Fan F-18 on speed 480.

And I dont wanna pay $100 for 10 cell zapped 1700mah. Thats crazy. I was thinking about maybe $50 or even less, shesh.

Status: offline 		Why in the world would anyone want zapped batteries? If you are talking about Nicads the usual diffinition of a zapped battery is one which has failed due to a short circuit caused by internal crystals growing thru the insulation membranes. By zapping the shorted cell with a high current for a few microseconds, this short is vaporized due to the heat and temporarily fixes the short but leaves a hole in the membrane that will soon have another short grow accross it. If a battery needs zapping, and the zapping temporarily cures it, don't use it where reliability is important because you don't have any. Another failure is just waiting to occur. Rod

Status: offline 		umm, ok i dont think you know that much about batteries. since companies zap new batteries so that the battery would be able to discharge a higher voltage at high amps. and people like to use zapped batteries since they give you a nice boost.

Status: offline 		After going threw the battery wars for almost 10 years of R/C car racing I can tell you the zapped Battery deal is just another way to extract a few more dollars per battery. The batteries are given a zap as discribed , it does produce a cell with Higher numbers AT THAT TIME. it has no residual effect after that charge and no long term benifits . Its no differant than a high rate peak charge or the so called Pushed Cell. The best batteries are the ones matched at normal discharge and charge rates . Also you can't compair numbers from two diffeant brands, not all matchers count the same, what may be a 450 for one company could be a 460 for another . When looking at matched cells go to a matcher that can tell you if all the cells were matched on the same day and from the same batch. The next thing is that matched packs do not stay matched , no matter how close they match some cells will always do better than others. I took apart all of my battery packs twice a year and had them rematched, I never had a set of batteries come out equal on the rematch.

Try http://www.flydma.com/ . You'll find the CP1700 and CP2400 cells there, in pretty much whatever cell count you want.

Also, if you want zapped or not, they have those options too.

Status: offline 		For lower amp draws, this information is correct. Zapping (pushing or whatever) doesn't do anything. For sustained, higher amp draws (above 40A) it allows for higher volts. It's very well known in the F5x camps.
