Looks like a fun place to run the trucks Jeff. Nice view too.

WOW! Now thats a bashin spot. Only one bad thing... Id end up buying a quad, or a dirt bike, and spending the day on that instead. lol

So, did any of you guys keep up on the silver state results last night? Truhe and Drake took 1st, and 2nd. Which is no surprise. The funny thing is, Ashton (formerly of CEN junk) was racing the new Sidorf buggy. And battled with Drake for a while, and even had 2nd at one time. His throttle stuck, and dropped him down to 4th i believe. Heres the results from the race.

Buggy:
1. Mike Truhe - Losi/Novarossi
2. Adam Drake - Losi/Trinity Drake
3. Ryan Cavalieri - AE/Orion
4. Jason Ashton - Sidorf/SH

Truggy:
1. Cody King - Kyosho/Sirio
2. Taylor James - Jammin/OS
3. Adam Drake - Losi/Trinity Drake
4. Mike Truhe - Losi/Novarossi

I heard the track was blown out.... And i suppose this proves it. If these pros cant jump straight, and land level.... Then it was definitely THRASHED!!!

Wow, that's a completely ridiculous picture... I can imagine there was quite a bit of carnage!

--

On a separate note, I took the Baja 5b out this weekend for it's maiden run. I was actually quite disappointed by the out-of-box throttle response... Whoo, it was acting like a real dog.

I took a look at the instructions, and found they suggest you remove the muffler extension (the bent tube that goes out behind the wing)... Well that made quite a bit of difference.

Are you guys doing anything different with your 5b's to really open them up? I know that engine can pull it along faster than it is right now, It just feels a little laggy.

(maybe I've set my expectations too high, now that I got my Nitro up and running decent).

From the pictures I've seen from the silverstate race, the track was horrible. A bunch of whooped out sections, much worse than we saw at WOOR. It was nice to see the new AE buggy up in 3rd. Kinda cool the newest 1/8th buggies are doing the winning. Not sure what happened to Mayfield. He was in the B somewhere. Then again I saw a lot of top drivers even down in the C main. Tough competition and tough track.

Hunter, that motor will wake up a bit around a gallon. I know mine sure did. I havent done any mods yet for performance. I've still got the new ring and piston on order at DB's. Probably late April on that. And i have yet to find an exhaust i really like. But honestly, my 5B is pretty fast stock. But it'll likely never compare to a high end nitro. The power to weight ratio, just isnt in its favor.

Brian, there are more pics on neobuggy. That track was a total WRECK. I've also been told its VERY hard to see the cars, and track at the farthest point out. So im sure that made it even harder to navigate a blown out track.

Man, ya just gotta love these little micro RX's. This 8T radio box is REALLY small. But this micro RX just fits soo nicely.

Good to know... Looks like I'll just have to keep excercising it.

I've got a pullstart pre-filter on order to cover it, cause it seems to suck up dirt and grass like it's going out of style.

Otherwise, I'm running my bone stock as well (minus the exhaust stinger) which I'm assuming you've removed from yours as well. If you haven't be prepared for a major difference in the low end.

--

BTW, that spektrum Micro RX is nice... I was going to order a couple of new RX's for my trucks, might be the ticket right there. No telemetry with those, eh?

Telemetry? Who needs that.

I'll be running the April 1st Larry's race, stock truck and Mini open.

Clearly I'm going to have to disassemble the Muggy completely and make sure the parts are threadlocked... I just got done with breakin, so I figured I'd fill up half a tank and do a little playing around.

About 6 minutes in, the throttle starts to feel sloppy and the steering is unusually soft.

Pull it in for a look... 3 missing screws holding the servo top plate! Well there ya go.
Glad they didn't get hooked up in the center-diff or the clutch gear.

You know that receiver is small when the servo wires look big compare to it.

Hunter, that's the bad thing about RTR vehicles, it's more work because you end up having to take it all apart to put it together right.

Same thing happened to me Hunter. I was at a track when it happened though. And i lost one from the bottom as well. Soo far you are having better luck than me. My steering servos went out on me, at tank 6 or 7. Not sure why. I turned the truck on, while it was on my work bench. I watched them fight each other for a second. Then die. Have no idea what caused it. Currently, im running a single servo setup. I still like the truck alot though. I've made a ton of changes since the last time i had it on a track. So im eager to get it back out again. Im wondering if they are gonna make some nice har ano braces for this muggy. Seems the stockers dont match anymore, once you get the chassis, and CF parts in place.

Ken, im sure Dante can handle that bike really well. He was just messin around, spinning the tire a bit for me. It was cool to watch. I miss riding bikes. Both dirt, and street.

Brian, ya, this RX is seriously tiny. But the stock Spektrum RX, as small as it is, would have been crammed in here. So i went with the itsy bitsy version.

No Ken, not likely gonna build a XXX. I would have no use for it. I dont care for the Larrys carpet track, and i honestly dont have much interest in the long washtenaw race days. I really wanna run my Nitro stuff more than anything right now. Have you stopped in to that zero gravity place at all recently? Just wondering how thats lookin. I e-mailed him, to see if he had enough volunteers for track build, or a track build date. Hoping to hear something good.

For anyone looking for a DC charger, check this out. It looks like a reworked ICE, but has a backlit display and can discharge up to 30 amps.

Nice job Matt. I didn't realize how big the side windows are on the 8T bodies.

Ok, the center diff on the 3.3 Revo now has the special formula.

1 glob of 300k
1 glob of 500k

lol. Now hopefully that shows me some sign of diff action. The 500k, was just not workin for me. The funny thing is, the 300k is still like silly putty. I can see why they come in jar style containers. If you had to squeeze this out of a bottle, you'd be screwwwed. So anyway, i'll try it tomorrow. See how it goes. Today i ran the LST2 after i painted batmans body. The suspension felt way soft. So i upped the springs on that. The truck seemed like a dog at first. I tuned it up a bit, and adjusted the slipper. Seems alot better. So the LST2 is pretty much ready to hit the track.
