LOL. OMG Ken... Friggin checkers... Ade, i've heard of CEO power mods, but didnt know they made their own engines. I see CEO modded engines on A-main. I've seen the OPS, and the Radical engines. The Radical look interesting. I have never seen em run though. And havent heard too much about either brand.

Well, i decided on the V-spec today. Dropped by DB's and got the V-spec, and a Team Orion 1600 pack. Everything is installed. All the trims, epa's, etc... All set. Charging up the battery, then i'll double check everything. I can see how people will trash throttle/brake servos on this setup. The brake arm setup, is an extremely short throw design. But i got it all setup now. The brakes seemed to be set stronger on the fronts out of the box. I changed that up a bit. I've got more towards the rear, and then an overall light brake setup. I really like the air filter setup on this truck too. The way it mounts, holding the filter secure with a body clip. I like that alot. So the truck is pretty much ready. I also setup the TTR starter box for this truck. Atleast until i get my hands on the new TL starter box. I also need to throw on one of my pipes here, or buy another one. I'm thinking i'll end up with an OS pipe as well. I'll get pics later.

Get the upgraded chassis braces. Be sure to get the upgraded KH throttle servo plate too to save the servo, make sure you keep the carp straight across, even if you have to dremel a little. THis will keep that throttle from dying. Some tips from the DBs crew.

Ken, the pivot action you see when a center diff vehicle turns, is from that brake bias. If you have strong brakes up front, you'll go straight to the outside of the turn. Stronger brakes in the rear, and you'll get nice tight steering. Same concept behind the center one ways for the Revo. It frees up the front drive shaft upon braking.

Mike, i've got my linkage setup real nice right now. My carb is pretty straight right now too. Like i mentioned in my previous post, i think alot of those servo problems are caused from poor setup. That brake linkage has a VERY short distance to travel. Im probably set at 30-40% of my travel for brakes. It takes time to setup properly, but nothing is binding, and my servos arent making any noise. So i think im ok in that area. As for the extra bracing, im not sold on that being the reason for the servos going out. I mean anything is possible, but i dont think thats the cause. But hey, if im wrong... I'll be replacing a servo soon eh? LOL. Since these things supposedly destroy servos in a big ugly way. Here are a couple pics. I still have no pipe. I was gonna buy the older style OS pipe, but didnt care much for the return line nipple. The new design is supposed to be out late April.... I'll see how long i can hold out. Possibly just run with my JP-2 for a while.

That thing looks good with the engine in there... Bet it feels a little bit more balanced too, with the motor all locked in.

Still, you won't get the true feel until you plop it down on all 4 and start running

She looks good Matt! That V-Spec looks really good in there. I know OS is killer but I heard alot about the bearing in that motor....not sure how much of it is true. Im with you...I think its poor setup thats destroying servos. I decided to install a less expensive servo first to make sure I have it all installed correctly. EPA is critical on this setup! I also think its critical that you have the grommets installed on your servos too. I bought and installed the front, rear braces and servo tray stiffener because I liked how they looked. I like how they make everything feel more solid.

Good Luck to all the new 8ight T owners!

Hey Matt, that 8T looks just like mine now Still no go with starting that vspec though...but really close I will try a new plug tomorrow. It is firing right up now but it dies when I pull the igniter.

Just did a few more mods to the LST that worked out really well, allot faster all the way around and much more controllable speed

Ya Hunter, the suspension felt wayyyy off right out of the box. With the gear installed, it feels alot better. I actually put it on the scale today. Showing 8.2-8.3 lbs. Only thing its missing is the pipe. So it outta move along real nice with this V-spec.

ADE, i went with the high end servos right away. I think im pretty safe though. I spent alot of time today doing that setup. I still need to slip on some CVD boots to keep those pins in place. Just in case they come loose during a race. I've also gotta get a PT in here. Its currently on the muggster. Im still debating sending one off to that MRT company, and getting a bunch of clones. Would make things real easy at the track. I also might throw on one of those Odonnell cooling heads. I really like the look of those heads. But i will break it in first. See how it runs.

Batman still cant get the batmobile fired up? That stinks. But its typical of these high end motors, with all that compression, and tight pinch. I remember my high end RB motors, and OS motors back when i had some buggies... Man.... NOT fun to break-in. But i've learned sooo much since then. Hopefully i'll have no problems. Im still not planning break-in for another week or so. I plan to sit down this week and get alot of my paint done. So i can start planning any road trips, and track time. So what mods did you do to the LST2? And how did you come across that Rap cat? Or do i even wanna know.... lol

Try heating the block up with a hair drier before starting it. Makes break in much easier on you and the engine. I usually point it at the side of the block where the sleeve is and let the temp get over 100 F at the glow plug.

We had that thing up to 240 with a heat gun, trust me, it will still get stuck. I was going through my 8T installing some goodies and found that the plug was only about 15% good...so I am sure that is the cause of the stalling. It starts up good now, and I bet the new plug will allow it to STAY running. Can't wait until tomorrow. My box sucks though, I burned my hand as I had to hold the motor and igniter at the same time with my right and the front of the truck and radio in the left on a box with no top and positioned backwards

LST mods...you will see at the races but this thing is crazy fast and very controllable....great combination Bill got to see it run before the mods.

Well, 240 should have it warmed up plenty. Hopefully the new glow plug does the trick for ya. Is that the same starter box you let Chris use, or does he still have that one?

I'd have to verify if thats the same as the 3.3 header. But that would be a good spare to have on hand. Have you guys been to the traxxas site lately? Last night i saw they updated the nitro rustler, and the nitro stampede. They have 2.5's in em now... That little stampede outta SCREAM with a 2.5 in it.

I'm guessing the electric 4-tec and spirit will get upgraded before the e-maxx ever will.
