hey nitro_racer_1, i was wondering what the aluminum upper plate you have on your car is for? im guessing for reinforcment?? is it a worthy buy?

well i wanted to make the truck all aluminum mainly for the strength, just cuz the aluminum is stronger than the plastic, and it prolly stiffens up the chassis a little which is a good thing for handleing, and yeah i would recomend it, carbon fiber is good too, im actualy gonna replace my alluminum upper plate with carbon fiber, ive been in touch with Noob2nitro, who is working with top speed toys to make CF parts for the buggy, if i were u i would hold out for the CF stuff cuz its strong and stiff and really light.

HI Mark , Hi all

On the front engine bearing , is there a part number as per the manual ?. I see in my manual as

02079 - OIL BEARING 15*10*4.

Is it called Oil Bearing or engine bearing ...are both one and the same ? will this fix my problem of fuel leak that i see when i prime the engine?? Does the front and back bearing usually have the same size.

thank you

No lucas, 02079 is a brass bushing for the wheel hub. Comes w/ basic RTR nitros. Better RTR's have bearings there but this
is not an engine bearing. Also, no engine parts are listed in the manuals.

You need item R011... see attached pic.

No sorry, I did not. I was looking for it here but I think I PM'd the size to someone and can't find it.
I'll have to try to get that info tonight.

Mark

yes thats a 2 speed hpi clutch bell that is the original tranny case with an hpi 86038 2 speed tranny kit installed its an hpi onroad setup but have had no problems with it shifting it runs good the engine doesnt wanna wind out 2nd though think its just a lack of power i could tweak the shift point a little though the engine has a weak top end think ill stick to my orinigal idea of slapping a OS .18 tz in it that should give me the power needed to wrap it out

also if its leaking at the front of the motor, i would check the seal at the botom of the carb, or the nut that holds it on could be loose.

Well, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my engine now and it took me some hard looking and some thinking to get that darned fly wheel off...The threaded piece that holds your clutch and eclip has something equivelent to RED Lock-Tight...it's a permanant thread locker, so it's tough...Also if you look at the edge of the flywheel there is a hole going towards the center...Stick an Allenwrench in there (I forget, but the biggest that fit is either 2 or 2.5 MM) then use either a deep socket wrench or I used the 1/8 scale wrench that came with the starter pack on the nut...hold the allenwrench for leverage, then take off the nut...Once again, that was a bit tough, but it did come loose without breaking my allenwrench...

another way if all else fales is to take the upper plate off the chassis (so u have room), and bolt the motor down and stick a screw driver up therw the flywheel hole in the bottom of the chassis and push it hard against the flywheel and then try breaking the nut free, its alot of work, but it usually works
