I was hoping to be able to figure this out on my own but I've been beaten so:

As you know, the tip panel LE/TE joins the centre section LE/TE in a -Z- type joint. Well, due to poor building skills, I can get the front LE spar of both to join up (the middle spar of both is ok) but the TE spar is out by 1/16" or so (ie: I can't get the Z of the tip panel to mate with the Z of the centre section).

Too much would need to be cut off each side at the TE spar to be able to provide a solid enough joint. I've already cut down through the balsa on the extreme TE and minimally into the solid wood on the outer side of the outer TE (make sense?).

Proposed solution: if I detach T1 rib from the TE, I can bend the TE spar out just enough to get it around the Z angle on the centre section Z angle and join up the 2 TE's. We're only talking about 1/16" or less of "bend".

Once it's mated, there will be a gap between the end of T1 rib and the TE spar of <1/16". I propose to re-connect T1 rib and the TE spar by epoxying in a small square block of wood in that corner (1/4x1/4" square) to re-join that corner. The only drawback (that I can see) is that the TE spar will now be ever-so-slightly bowed out at that location. It may not even be noticeable after shaping. Iwon't know till I've done it.

Is that a viable solution (detaching the rib from the TE and re-gluing with a block)? Or will it weaken that area too much?

I can provide pics if needed.

Thanks.
