Im looking to add anohter plane to my collection..... Im wanting a .40 or .60 plane that can do some good aerobatics. I was really looking/need advice on the best plane something like the Big Stik or the Wild Stik. I think i would like a plane that looks like these..... i like the look of the big stik and wild stik and i think they are a few others that are like these planes.... Which plane do you think is a better arf......... I like the open front with the whole engine showing for this project...... i know the big stik is popular but ive been looking hard at the wild stik ?? anyone have this plane.....

need a little advice...

The Ultra Stick 60 is a better plane than the Big Stick 60.

The big Stick is too heavy. I have one with a Saito 91 on it.

enjoy,

Jim

Here is my old style Ultra Stick 40 with the non counter balance rudder. It has a Saito 56 and many flights. I have a new style one also and I put flaps on it. The Stick type planes are my favorite because of their versitility and simplicity.

The 40 size my be the right plane for you? The size is more manageable and they burn less fuel. This yellow one is not as visible on a cloudless day as my newer red/blue one.

The Ultra Stick is much lighter than the Big Stick series. They both fly well but the Ultra Stick is better. The Super Sticks from Great Planes fly well also.

Enjoy,

Jim

I must add, though, that the big stick 60 is much more wind tolerant than the ultra stick 60--I've owned both. Probably due mostly to the added weight, but also maybe to the wing design? Also, the nose gear helps ground tracking on windy days as well--although with a 90 sized four stroke, ground handeling consists of about 5 feet of pavement.

My big stick 60 feels like it weighs a ton. It does float some on approach so I guess the wing loading is not that bad.

I guess I should weigh it? I'll trick my wife into holding it while she steps on the scales?

I have had the plane for many years. I did have a ST S61K on it then a ASP 65 four stroke. I now have a Saito 91 on it. It has flown good with all these engines.

Mine is a tail dragger and is excellent in the wind like you said. I can land it on the main wheels first or tail first. So the main gear position must be correct?

Enjoy,

Jim

That would be great with my Saito 72 on it? And it has a good price too.

Enjoy,

Jim
