i was about the mini t/baja. where the ball joint goes into the shock tower to hold the wheel upright, that rod. my cousin broke a the piece that the ball joint goes into on the shock tower. are there any replacement parts for that or do you just get a stock. the car tumbled half the length of the track. thanks

I guess you could go back to stock....but I heard there is a lot of hop ups/aftermarket for Mini T/Baja.....so you might be able to find aluminum!!! Good luck

If you go back to the pic of my tabletop......the sideboard is 3' long at the bottom....and 2' long at the top. It is approxminately 18" from the center of the hump of the little jump from the "downside" of the tabletop(I hope this is making sense).

I found with my stock motored stampede(18-20mph on a fresh NiMH battery), that I can barely clear the little jump when ramping from the tabletop. If I jump from the little hump, I will land on the tabletop or, sometimes, on the "downramp of the tabletop. My plans have changed some......but, it's still about what I started with.

One thing I DO recommend.......I was going to finish the track and then drive on it!!!!!! I figured that if I tried to drive on it BEFORE it was finished....I would spend all my time driving on it INSTEAD of working on it. I COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!! The reason is because I have changed my plans 3 times because of "testing" it. I drove my pede cause it's the slowest, most non-racer vehicle I got running. I wanted to know if I could actually drive it on the track without too much breakage. If you look back at the pic of my original track plan, you'll see that I was going to have a little jump, tabletop and little jump. As you can see, I've stopped with the tabletop and ONE little jump. By testing it, I found I would be "nosediving" into the 2nd little jump if I were to add the 1st little jump in front of the tabletop. Of course, I want to make the track challenging, but I don't want to be abusive either. Another thing I hate doing is having to move around to put my "upset" vehicle back on it's wheels. I like driving....not walking!!!!!LOL!!! My idea of a relaxing drive is sitting down on my swing tearin up the track. You'll see my swing(actually, it's my wife's) when I get the track done.

Hope this info helps. I will be posting updated pics soon. Not that I don't like this forum, but I'm thinkin about posting a new one called "The birth of a backyard track".

Only thing I can think of is a Micro T in your apartment!!!!! Do you have any fields/lots nearby? Relatives/Friends with land just sittin at idle? Maybe those could be ideas......otherwise, you'll have to buy a house or find a house to rent that the owner doesn't care about the yard.....or a country house...... hope this helps. Ob1n

ob1n - No problem. I like having them all on one thread so you can go through and look at them. You have the link on here, that's the next best thing.

Here is my new layout. I got my mini-t about as clean as it's ever been and set it up for the track again. It looked so pretty for about 20 minutes, lol. I also replaced all of the screws that were involved in my encounter with the rogue wave, lol. I am dissapointed with how the pics came out though, you would really have to see it in person along with the before pics to appreciate it. I ran on the track once and my motor got pretty hot. It took me a while but I think the problem is a few bad transmition bearings. The ones on the slipper are messed up.

We are also extending out patio a little bit and putting a shade up so I'll be getting 2 to 3 loads of dirt, hmmm..... What could I possibly use that for?

Your T looks prestine!!!! In fact, almost new!!!

Looks as though you are using nails as well for your track rails? I also notice that nothing ever grows on yours.....are you doing something to make that possible? Or are you always moving the dirt/de-weeding? Is there a reason you use PVC in the ground at the ends of the 4" tube?

Looks good.....can't wait till mine is completely done!

Thanks,

I just drive on it all the time. It's hard at first to keep stuff from growing on it but the more you drive on it the better it looks. A hula-ho helps to. That's all I used when I started. It took a couple weeks, 3x3 sections at a time, and I had a lot of blisters when I was done. The PVC pipe is just so we can see the end of the turn better. It helps a lot for night racing.

hula-ho, not the best piece of equipment if you want to clear a large area of grass but it's all I had. That
