I tried fast charging my 4-cell nicad receiver battery with my 110D at 1.0 amp. It charged in about 1/2 hour and tested OK at home with my loaded meter. Nearly lost control of my old Fun Scale Mustang but managed to land safely. Range was reduced on ground, battery voltage tested low with loaded meter. I can only guess that 110D charger "false peaked". Recharged with buddy's Sirius Smart Charge at field and charge held OK.

What did I do wrong with the 110D?

Also, I have field-charged my Hitec Eclipse TX with the 110D at 1.0amp. It seems to charge OK. I notice that I have to crank up amps to 1.0 or I get "no-battery" or other error messages on the display. ( Am I overcoming a diode in the TX?)

Is there any thing wrong with charging TX with 110D this way?

( Thought I knew what I was doing)

I regularly fast-charge my rx & tx batt's (4-cell 600 & 6-cell 1300 mAH) with the 110D.

The only time false peaks have occurred is when the 12V source battery's voltage goes below 11.7V; seems the 110D isn't very tolerant of a low supply voltage.

To avoid flying on an incomplete charge, I've gotten in the habit of noting the amount of charge (mAH) put into the batt, and whether the figure is reasonable considering the amount of flying that was done.

Re Hitec Eclipse, not sure if a diode is the problem, but something isn't right since I can adjust charge current continuously from 0 to 5 amps, in increments of 0.1 A (I wired a charge jack directly to tx pack; you might consider doing same, but beware of voiding warranty).
