I just finished installing the XTM conversion on my T and the rear axle is binding, it's like it's a couple mm to long because I took off the rear skid plate and when I turn the rear wheels you see the whole rear end push away from the tranny slightly. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone got a soulution? I wonder if I run it if the parts will wear quickly and work properly? I do have the XTM 24-7 engine in it as well. Any suggestions would be great.. Thanks

You need to dremel the slots in the diff cups, they are not long enough. Do not run the truck until you make the slots longer. The last conversion I put toghther I had to dremel the slots past the band that goes around the cup, probably about 1/8th inch. Stack 2 or 3 cutoff wheels to make the slot longer. :

That was pretty painless. I dropped the tranny and dremeled it out in a few minutes. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Thanks for the tip on stacking the cutoff wheels that worked great!! Everything is good now....Till I break it!!!

You'll break the tranny gears first, then diff's. What gearing are you running?

Stock Gearing, I was hoping if I took it easy with it, it will last at least a little while. What gearing is best?

I was planning on replacing the broken gears with the Robinson Racing type when it's time.

Thanks

You better take it real easy. The stock gearing will kill it on the first blip WOT. You should run 23 or 24/65. I have 1 friend that is still running stock gears with 24/65 and the truck is fast. Good luck.
