I agree about WWI though, we really need a 80" Spad VIII. I dont believe that is even kitted by very many companies.

Okay, they have to be giant scale, 80" or bigger, minimum 1.50 size but bigger is better. Scale everything. Solid retracts - including the tailwheel, flaps. Here's my wish list in order:

F6f Hellcat (Pleeeeaaase!)
F4U-4 Corsair
TBM Avenger
SBD Dauntless

Also, there seem to be loads of newer guys, like me, that have gotten the r/c bug from the Hangar 9 PTS P-51. Would it make sense to market, say, a Spit or Zero (or other well known type) in the same vein that are upgradeable to sport scale fliers to bring more into warbirds as they advance and gain ability to fly them?
It is the concept of flying a warbird and eventually moving into scale warbirds, in particular, that has attracted me to r/c after putting it of for 30 odd years.

We definitely need some Axis aircraft, Fw190, ME109 etc.. Something that the Allied Aircraft can chase around

Status: offline 		As a happy owner of other H-9 ARFs (P-51s [2ea.], P-47, T-34, and Corsair) I look forward to more great ARFs. I don't know if you all would consider twins, but I included the A-26 which has been missing from the market for too long. Please keep them as .60 or larger birds as the T-34 has a heavy wing loading in .46 size (added flaps and it lands very sweet).

  • The Focke-Wulf FW190 is a classy looking bird you don't see every day in ARF form.
  • The Bell P-39 Aircobra (a nice tricycle gear model).
  • The Douglas A-26 Invader is the coolest looking and flying twin (without the P-38's loss of 1 engine leading to a flat spin problems).

By the way a .60 sized Beech Staggerwing could be considered as a warbird since they were used for high speed military transport duty in WW-II. Had to throw that one in after building a Royal kit that was the talk of the field everywhere it went.

Status: offline 		The problem with German birds is that it will be tough to pull off a good camo color scheme using UltraCoat. Just look at the old Sportsman Aviation .40 sized FW190 for instance. You can't really do mottled spots with pieces of covering material.

P-39
MiG-3 (pick a Russian WWII bird, most look great)

Both .60 size or larger. P-39 would be nice to put in an electric motor and save the outline on it. Not to mention it would be a good tricycle arangement, like someone mentioned earlier.

I don't want to sound snooty or something, but besides us guys who actually know "warbirds", how many others would want a Frank, or Lagg, etc.???

Gotta think from a marketing perspective?!

The market already has a glut of P-51's and Corsairs, Spitfires, etc.


We need something different, yet still marketable to the masses, right?!


Personally, I would love a nice Ki-61 or Messerschmitt 109F (or E if it had a BIG, scale size spinner )

Look at this brute, the British Thunderbolt ! It's got to be a large scale one though, I bet you would have a hard time balancing a 60 size with a lightweight glow motor. C'mon H9, make Topflight Jealous ! 85-90", built to accept a G-62, what's not to like eh ?
