ramduster......excellent choice on the at-6......great flyer....I originaly had the Euro Kit retracts in the plane but after a year of flying it the gear went to garbage...there not suited for grass fields....I replaced them with robarts 620 at-6 gear and they are stronger and look better installed...I advise anyone wanting to put retracts in this plane to purchase the Robart gear...they are not that difficult to install...a little more revisions to the gear mount area but well worth the effort....and don't forget to install flaps you will be surprised how well they work...

ramduster...the best spinner is the ( Truturn at-6 texan spinner ) its the same one that was used on the Midwest at-6 and I used the Zenoha G-26 engine that combination is perfect for this plane...

Will the gas tank stopper that comes with the kit work with gas or is it glow fuel only.

The Robart gear will fit...with mods. The Sierra gear that Darrel offers are by far the best quality, and they are made for this plane. You get what you pay for. Mine operate flawlessly. No leaks, no hassles. Check em out.

Thanks I have a set of spring air retracts that I will be using but would still like to know if I will need to replace the tank stopper with one that is for gas only.

ramduster,

The stopper included with the kit is for glow only.
The Dubro 400 gas stopper http://www.shopatron.com/product/part_number=400/101.0 is a good replacement. Don't forget the klunk line too!

RCPILOT,

I'm back working on my plane to get it ready to fly in a few weeks. I'm still trying to solve my wing tube issue. Can anyone confirm for me the outside diameter of the wing tube that came in your kit? Mine has got to be WRONG. It's not even close to a decent fit in either the inner or outer wing panels so it just wonr work as a tube for a three piece wing.

I'm thinking of calling the place that I ordered it but want to be sure first.

Thanks,

Ben in SC

Benwillis....the wing tubes on my at-6 measure 3/4 of an inch in diameter..and my metal tubes seem to measure just a slight hair under 3/4 inch...you may have to change the metal wing tube diameter to fit...the fit should be fairly close for both the solid wing and the three piece wing...to be a solid connection...some hobby shops and hardware stores sell aluminum tubes in different sizes....

Where's the best place to purchase one of these Texans?

Also how many different color schemes do they come in?
Thanks,
Kelly
