I bought the CMP AT-6 and I am waiting for the engine and retract.
Questions: Did someone remove the decals for this plane? How did you do that?
I want to remove the insignia decals fron the wings and fuselage and replace them, like the photo I attach.
This thread will be very helpful for the building.

this is a good point seen it happen to 3 at6,s at our club all varying in size even my small great plane one did it if not enough airspeed (lost her to servo failure great flyer though)

Status: offline 		x Droman ... what kind of decals are ... if they are plastic I believe that with a small cutter and with a little alcohol should go away ... otherwise, had it painted should spend a glass paper media and Fina then paint ...

Status: offline 		hi i am on my second cm pro texan we use them in a racing class with a 120 two stroke & a 15*10 apc, b c m muffler they get of the ground quick and fly about 80mph, i used euro kit retracts with oleos ,they bolt straight in air up sping down .very hard to land well as they bounce easy, best to let one wheel touch first and let it run on the main gear

Status: offline 		Hello all; Just got my texan last week and it sure is a nice looking plane. I have a few questions for all you good people. I have ordered a xyz 26cc engine for it but have read on other threads that the engine is only good for planes up to 10 or 11 pounds, is this so? I also have ordered the serria retracts and I do not know alot about the texan and wanted to know if it used retrectable tail wheel. all photo's I have seen shows the wheel in flight. I am also going to bash some flaps in it. What size of servos do I need?
What size of air tank do I need for the retracts? Where may I get a cockpit kit? Where can I get the correct spinner? I have to order all my parts because the nearest hobby shop is about 150 miles from here. I love living in the middle of nowhere. Any and all suggestions would sure be nice also. Thanks to all. Status: offline 		Just destroyed my second CMP AT6 last weekend. (mid-air collision with 30% extra). This plane was the smoothest flying of all my warbirds. Mine had a 42cc gas engine. A 26cc will fly the plane at a scalelike speed but nothing exeptional. Make sure you have enough speed on takeoff before you pull up. Use a high tork servo (77 oz or better) for the elevator and standard servos will be fine every where else if using 6 volt rx pack. Any 1/5 or 1/4 scale retract size will work. Sierra has the direct drop in setup and the best out there but is pricey. Tail retract not needed and not worth the trouble. Tru -Turn.com for the spinner. The pilots sold by nitromodels work and look good. Will get another AT6 when they get the yellow/red ones back in stock.

I think I will order a ftl 45cc from hobbycity(I'm cheap) I also bought my cmp texan from hobbycity yellow/red. I just checked and they have 8 cmp texans (yellow/red) stocked in their US warehouse. Mine tool 4 days to make it to me. thanks again. Ronnie

Status: offline 		I have the same Texan and I been flying it for the past 6 months. I used WORLD MODEL retracts and one of my friends has put in a split flap in the center pannel. The flap slows down the airplane a bit and its settles a bit easier, still its not a easy plane to land in a cross wind. I have a 160 OS upfront with a JXF 18 x 6 wooden prop and a lot of nose weight. I have mixed in opposite ailerons with rudder and some up elevator also. Up going ailerons throw is nearly twice of down going ones. Looks pretty graceful specially while flying through scale manouvers.

I have the texan with an ftl 45. I'm almost done and will let everyone know how it went. I also put a smoke system on as well. I've run the engine and it ran well...so far.

Status: offline 		I have a spare Saito 180 engine and I was thinking about installing it in this plane. Anybody using this engine ? Maybe it won't be an acrobatic plane, but I think it should be plenty of power to move it.

Have the Eurokit landing gear improved throughout the years or is still having quality problems ? I was quoted 304 Euro for the kit. If still with problems, I think I will go with the Sierra.

Not sure yet about the color schemer, but I want to do something different......

Status: offline 		Gonzalo.......I don't know if they have upgraded the gear.....but I can say I had to throw my set away after one season of flying...they just didn't hold up the metal was too soft and they became so worn out they wouldn't work anymore....thats about what I paid for my set also....

I have not got my texan going yet, seems summertime is just not the right time of year to be in the shop with weeds to cut and grass to mow and to fly fly fly . I also have just recieved a crrc50cc for the texan and was wanted to know if any one else has used this engine in the texan or for anything else for that matter. Is this engine going to be too much?
