Lee,

The quickee wings can be purchased in both configurations.

We will be bringing the first ones to PHX, therefore you can see them there.

Dan;
Any chance you'll have a "booth" at Toledo this year?? I could get some wings there if you have any to bring to the show?? As far as "coming West", I'd like to get at least one local race in here at our home field, just to make sure my "digits" are up to the task of flying the course still. Its a YEARLY thing now as the years slide by THe first race out in CAPS is around the 22 of May, wasn't it. I'll see if we can schedule one for our club on the weekend before - - - - If the snow is gone.

Seeker Kit buyers,

My 4 kits just arrived today, and see that I had a small misscommunication error with my cutter on one of the changes I requested.

On all of the seekers I have built, I've always had to lower the back of the v-tail saddle area to get the incidence zero'd with the wing. So I wanted to lower the back of the stab area by 1/8" and angle it to the front of the v-tail so that it would be closer right out the gate.

The cutter notched the bottom of the fuze at the rear. All you will need to do is glue a couple small pieces of scrap balsa to make up for the small step at the rear of the fuse.

Also, we lowered the hatch into the fuze to reduce the amount of sanding at the TE of the wing. You will now need to sand the balsa top cross sheeting down to the rear of the hatch.

Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions. I will be reviewing all cad changes before any new kits are cut in the future.

I missed all those changes but I must admit, I just glanced in there to make sure everything survived the trip... Doesn't sound like anything too major...

Hi Dave,
I have one of your Seeker kits I bought at a local swap meet as well as Lewis' Pacemaker kit. I understand that both of you used to use the same person, but the ones that are being sold by Dan Kane are going to be done by someone else now. I was kind of surprised to hear of the change from my friend that went to Pheonix. Will the construction still be the same? I hope it does not change , it built real well and flew pretty darn good.

Steve,

Dan Kane is getting them cut at the same laser cutter that I have used for close to 3 years. They are done at NE aerodynamacis in New hampshire and they have done a great job.

We looked at Sig, but it just didn't make sense. John has done a great job, and I don't see any reason to change.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for clearing that up, I would hate to see that plane change, it really goes together real nice and flies very well too. I was so surprised when my friend came back and told me Dan said he was changing who made the kit. I gave my Seeker to my son, he is 12, to race this season, and wanted to get another one to match it.
How does it fly with the new molded wings?

Steve

The planes fly great with either wing, no difference in how they fly. I have no data if one is faster than the other, but with all the time and effort, I'm sure hoping the molded wing will be faster.

I'm anxious to see how my Seeker does with the Bird of Prey composite wing... It's about ready for paint so as soon as the snow melts I'll get it out...

Hi Dave,
I guess the biggest difference might be the airfoil is a little more accurate, but the wing that mine came from was built by Bill Vargas and it was pretty darn good. Figure these will be great for my son to get started. Going to get him two more so he will have three the same.
I learned years ago, if you want to to fast and do it cosistantly, all of your planes have to be built and set up the same.

Check with Dan Kane or Travis Flynn at www.supertrc.com

They have the exclusive distribution rights to this plane. I am out of the kit biz for good.

I believe they are working with Bill Vargas to get wings, or you can work with Bill directly. I know he is in Helicopter school right now and backlogged a bit but will get to ya.

"Doesn't he know better"

You know Marines, they are a little hard headed.
