There is a little small dial that is under the throttle and steering trim. Make sure this is turned all the way up.

Ok, got a Vx in the beginning of Jan. Three tanks later, both middle gears chewed to uselesness... anyone else have this problem? After I got it running the first time, I liked the motor and chassis, but..... I wonder if this is an engineering prob or just an isolated problem?

PosiTrac is a 1:1 car clutched limited slip differential. it does in no way guarantee equal power being sent to both wheels, it just helps distribute it more evenly. locking the diff is a BAD IDEA. your car will handle terribly, and if you tag a curb with a rear tire, your other tire can't spin to make up for the one being impacted not being able to spin, so you'll break drivetrain parts.

get some silicone diff fluid and fill your rear differential with 3,000 wt and front diff with 7,000 wt fluid-you'll be happy you did

No prob buddy...

Don't know about the speed because I never clocked it but like i've said before, I had trouble controling my vx without the shell.
The wing helps allot.

Hello i was thinking of getting the Lighting and noticed that a couple of you were getting the vx18 motor. I was wondering when i go to the redcat site i dont see that you have that option, so where did you get it or is it a different brand? If it was a different brand what is a good switch that you have seen? Thanks

http://www.clermontmotorsports.com He may have an .18 engine in stock. Maybe even free shipping yet! I don't think he has any other Lightning parts in stock though.

The .18 engine will fit any of the 1/10 scale cars. So if you click the buggy or truck links you'll find the engine.
