Well a update on my St. Gotr my ESC back from traxxas. They replaced it all together (cost me $45). They have changed the set-up slightly on it which looks better. Hoooked it up programmed it and bam I'm running again!!! Thing seemed much stronger!!!! Took it out today and was going to get some video of it for you guys. That did not happen. My slipper was a little too tioght, it was doing wheelie's on me. So I stayed out on the hard road playing with it. It would wheelie up and I would have to play the throttle to keep it from going over backwards. In the middle of a wheelie the shaft on the motor broke, with the pinion still attached. I totally can't beleive this!!! I have a couple pictures for you guys to see!! When I pulled the gear cover off the pinion fell out with the shaft .

No, I have an RTR ST (non-EXT) and I opened my tranny last night...it has bearings.

Amazing that you broke the motor shaft before breaking/stripping any of the gears (especially the spur). Someone once told me to stay far away from Traxxas as they break ALOT. Your post may further prove that to me.

I'm bedating on it. I have contacted them in email. I can send it in and they will see if they will replace it or not. They said if it was from a wreck they would not cover it. I think the wreck happened because of this happening. Plus it is a clean break as well. I can get another rotor for $45 and get back to running. Not sure yet.
