The way in which this came about however, is very disturbing to me and a lot of the SW zone members. There is absolutely no reason for all of this controversy over this situation. It is my opinion that Protocol was not followed by our zone director from the onset and as a result friendships are being lost, private clubs and clicks being are being established, our governing body is being bad mouthed and there is no NATS in Chatham to attend this year. I am waiting to see what the final outcome of this will be before I even think of attending a CAC event. I am hoping that MAAC will find an amicable solution to our problems.

YOU then send it to YOUR ZD ONLY his signature is required ont he FORM.... NO other Board member or EXECUTIVE member signature is needed to ACCEPT a club. (according to MAAC's OWN FORM)

The CAC is a FAST growning Club with well over 30 member at this time.

I have read your form and you are right Palmer, but how do you explain the following from the charter. To me it clearly states what the rights of the board are. Therfore if it is refused by the board as indicated on the maac website it is refused period. Further more you mentioned that the CAC has a right to an appeal. My question is how can a non-excisting club have any rights within MAAC? Palmer, I am not trying to stir the S&^% but again these are just questions that beg to be answered. Just plain and simple questions like the ones Chuck refused to answer before.

SIMPLE John.... YOU know PETER ask him if the CAC has a SIGNED form by the MAAC President which made them a MAAC CLUB. (standard MAAC business practice). He has saw it and is a GOOD friend of YOURS.

READ the BY-LAWS JOHN it states CAC has the right to a HEARING end of story.

It is normal MAAC business practice for the CLUB to approve members - the ZD to approve CLUBS!!! READ the bottom of the form.

WHY SHOULD CHUCK ANSWER QUESTION IN A PUBLIC FORM LIKE THIS OR RCC WHEN NONE OF THE OTHER BOARD MEMBERS OR EXECUTIVE DOES EITHER.

AGAIN.... I agree that MAAC has ASKED for the FORMS back. BUT the CAC under MAAC BY-LAWS has the RIGHT to a FAIR HEARING.

John if you do not want to attend the CAC event fine, stay home that is YOUR right. BUT why ruin it for all the other MAAC members that WANT to ATTEND a event like this.

Does MAAC need you to fight there BATTLES.

Status: offline 		and jabba is currently blankely staring at his 15" B&W monitor, wondering who it might be..............and at the same time, if his gerbil has dreams at night, as well as wondering if the light stays on in the fridge when he shuts the door. In fairness, he likely knows the answer to the last question after sitting in his fridge for a couple of hours.....just in case it does come on.........but has likely forgot by now........plug it in first jabba.

Yer doin it again son -- direct personal attacks. You have to learn to be more polite. If you want to know if the light stays on in his fridge when he shuts the door -- ASK him. The answer could be illuminating.

I find that there are so many events in our zone (G-Ottawa Valley) during the summer and fall that it is tough for me to decide which ones to go to. Be it electric or kerosene. My glow and gasoline stuff are finding new homes.

Only the small group that formed the "CAC" can explain the manner and timing they used to withdraw the Nats bid that was in place and pre approved by the MAAC board,and their announcement of the" CAC,s" creation .
It would have been so easy in my opinion to have had another Nats at Chatham and quite probably a committment for more than one year as some of us would have preferred.

There will be at least two SIG Nats this summer.........R/C Scale Aerobatics in Montreal,and one other that is being finalized as we speak.


One what is the matter with a group deciding NOT to run the NATS.

BC did the same thing.

The 2006 NATS were not pre approved ONLY if the committee jumped threw your hoops.
What ever the committee decided NOT to do it. SURE the same people decide to hold there own event.
WHATS wrong with that.

IS it not MAAC mandate to promote model aviation in Canada.

Glad you brought up the other two events. the Scale Aero and the Glider events. I wish the well.
BUT did the MAAC board hold them to the same standards as they were hold the 2006 NATS bid.
Seems funny that one group get treated differently then the other group.
MAYBE that is why the 2006 NATS committee dropped the bid.

Status: offline 		I was going to reply in detail to Chuckerjabber or whoever it is that is dredging up this old post,but in rereading the thread I see its all been said before.
Its hard to take the submission seriously ridden as it is with innuendo ,half truths,insinuation,and false assumptions
Have to wonder at the timing and intent though.
Perhaps the author would like to point out where and when I "made fun" of the situation ?
In fact I think the whole saga is pathetic and that all of us are losers.
Only the" CAC" promoters can clarify their actions to date.
