Tommy_Gun -> "Adventures of a P-38 Ace" (2/6/2006 6:32:22 PM)

This is the title of a book that is about to become available and I am posting to check for any interest in this book

This is a compilation of the memoirs of Col.Herbert E. Ross (USAF Ret.)

Herb as some of you may know is a friend of mine and he has quite a few great stories to tell.

He is now 86 yrs old and still flies a Pitts S1 as well as the RV-7 I helped him to build and is now working on an RV-10.

He finished the war with 9 kills, and could have had more but he was one of those that would allow a wingman a shot instead of taking all the kills himself.

The book is about 250 pages with color and black & white pics and he will be asking about $29 a copy.

Any interest? If so I'll post the info to purchase the book when its available, should be in about a week

P.S. to the Moderators,

Focke-Wulf -> RE: "Adventures of a P-38 Ace" (2/7/2006 12:48:57 AM)

Sounds great!

I also know a Luft. pilot, Gottfried Dulias, who flew the last several months of the war, when everything was collapsing in on the Fatherland. He had 4 confirmed victories, and became a Russian P.O.W. and survived! It's a nice read, and has a great personal touch.
I can find out how to get a copy now and post it soon if anyone would be interested?
