I'd like to construct a Douglas DC-4/C54, 14%scale. Where could I get scale plans etc.? The scale of the planes doesn't matter.

Status: offline 		Hi Guys; I have drawn plans for the DC4 at 1/10 scale and have been working on building the first from the plans which works out to a wingspan of 141" the one Hennie wants to build would be a giant at 14%. The biggest time expense was constructing the retract gears as no one sells them for the plane I built a set of electric retracts but they were very heavy and have since made up air retracts that are much stronger and lighter

I typed wrongly it shoul be 1/14 or +-7%.

I'm interested in copies of the plans. Do you have them in AutoCad or drawn manually.
What would the cost be?

Your plane looks stunning. What size engines will you use?

Status: offline 		Hi Hennie; I have the plans finished for fuselage and tail surfaces. I am detailing the wing as I build it. I plan on finishing the wing this winter and will offer the plans for sale if the plane flys ok. The plans are being done on auto cad so I would be able to scale size easily. I have no idea what the cost is, except that when I get a sheet plotted at the local printing shop it seems to be more expensive than it' should be. John

Status: offline 		Nice wok on your DC4. When I was in the Navy Air we had the R5-D and C118 version of the DC4. The R5s seldom flew above 9K feet and I logged more air time than I ever wanted to sitting in the web bench seats. The C118 was a little nicer and had supercharged engines and could fly higher. I once flew in a C118 from the Seattle Navy Air Station to the Willow Grove Navy Air Station (out side Philadelphia) non-stop and then back to Seattle two weeks later. It felt like we were in the air for days!! Air sickness was a problem in the R5 because of the low altitude flying and rough air. I never had problems, but usually one person would get sick and then all the others nearby would get sick. Not much fresh air eather!

Status: offline 		breaking in OS 91 4stroke as this seems to power other similiar size B17 type planes just fine my weight seems to be ok (right now) John

Status: offline 		can any one help me wire up 4 10 amp motors 4 castle creation 10 amp controllers or three motors and controlers will work i cant get the controllers to enable with a 2100 litho has anyone done this?

What are the updates on this DC 4 build, did you ever finished building it's wing and full set of plans for it?

On a side note: I have actual DC 4 redome, cockpit side window and few access panels from the wings.
