Hi everyone,

finally I have managed to understand how to put a video on the net. Took me long enough... So here is my first attempt. It is a run of a Seidel ST 770 7 cylinder radial engine driving a FW 44 "Stieglitz". Be sure to wear headphones or hook your computer up to your stereo with subwoofer!!!

Right click and save to: Seidel Video

Here's a little more about the airplane:

Cheers, Martin

Sounds wonderful, even on my perfectly ordinary PC speakers.

I'm jealous.

You truly have captured the 'essence' of the beauty of a model radial engine in that short video. Thank you!

I hope you don't mind Spuetz but since you are a Seidel engine activity magnet I am posting an updated link to the Proctor Seidel video from my clubs website (webmasters love to change things). More info for those who are intrested in these fine engines.

Hello Folks,

Reg's info reminds me to tell you that currently Seidels ST 770s are quite frequently on German e-bay. I have monitored the auctions and they always go around 1,300 to 1,500 Euro. That's roughly 1,500 to 1,800 US-Dollars. So you shouldn't really pay more. Maybe you can get someone to bid for you or so...

Just to let you know..

Cheers, Martin

Reg, sorry! You are not the seller, are you? I am really sorry, if you are. didn't think of that!
At the moment, I see them almost every week... It goes in waves. nothing for a few months, then one persons puts one on. Others see it and think: "oh, great idea - I might sell mine as well..." And off it goes.

There was a time (may be the golden 1999 - 2000 when everyone felt rich), when a lot of people bought those engines simply because they are beautiful. They put them in shocases in their offices or homes. May be they dreamt of putting them into a model but never finished the projects... Now they realize that they have looked at them enough and that the bay is a great market place.... the rest is history...

one guy - "topcollector" his handle - seems to have a lot of brand new engines - including the 14 cyl.. he keeps offering them 710s, 726s, 1426s, and so on....

Cheers, Martin

Well Martin,
No problem! The market over here is a bit different with not so many available. It would be interesting to find out how many Proctor sold of the different models.
I'm in the catagory of wanting to get around to building a model around this engine but just have too many other projects on-going to ever get to it. I would like to see it in someones hands that would use it & enjoy it. (Like you)
It's been damn hard not to run it some!

Hi Folks,

finally I managed to shoot a video of my Stieglitz with Seidel ST 770 in flight. Get your subwoofers ready once more...
Here's the link: Propman Website
Go to downloads

Or - easier:

Right click on the following links and download to your disk. Then play them back to back, since it is a two part video:

Stieglitz in flight part one

Stieglitz in flight part two

What do you think?
