Status: offline 		Hey guys, new to gas and have two flights on my DA50. The engine has about 5 gallons through it, and I am running 50 :1 Amsoil in it right now. It will swing a Menz 22X10 @ 6250 and a MSC 22X8 at 6900. This is with a Bisson pitts.

Do these figures seem about right?

Also how much would I gain by going with a Stock muffler? And lastly what could I expect a Mejzlick 23X8 to turn at?

Status: offline 		If you haven't cut the pinched off of the tips of the Bisson pipes already, do so. That will perk things up a bit. The numbers you provide with the 22-10 are really low. The MSC is pretty close to what you should see, perhaps 100-200 rpm low.

Overall, the numbers given make it sound like the engine may be on either side of the correct mixture settings. It's definately not whre they should be. Then again, I don't have a clue to your altitude above sea level.

Question, is there a possibility that the Menz 22-10 is actually the one with the higher rpm?

Status: online 		My buddy's DA50 with Slimline pitts turns a BME 22x10 at 6400 RPM near sea level. Mine turns a Bambula 22x8 at 6900 near sea level. The MSC and Bambula are around the same static load from what I've seen on other people's numbers. Your Menz looks a little low. I've heard the Bisson is a little more restrictive than the Slimline. I'd also cut the small ends off the stacks, easy 200-300 gain.

The stock DA muffler is lighter than the slimline not sure about the Bisson. Your numbers would go way up with stock DA but so would the noise. Also looks pretty bad when cut up the left side of your engine cowling.

23x8 Mejzlik is around 6600-6700 if I remember right. 22x8 is around 7200-7300.

Status: offline 		With 2 gallons thru mine on a KS pipe she is turning 7200 with a 22X8 NX prop.Plan to go to a 23X8 NX prop when she gets a few more gallons thru her.

When I was doing some prop testing with a Brison 3.2 at an elevation of about 800ft msl I was getting 7,300 with a Zinger 22-8, 7,100 with a Mejzlik 22-10, and 6,900 with an MSC 22-8. Hmmm...

89 octane
Amsoil 100:1 mixed at 80:1
7200RPM (7260 peak!)
Sea-level (FL) temp mid 60's with moderate humidity
I've got about 7-8 gallons through it.

Status: offline 		I'm pretty much at sea level( maybe 50ft ). And yes the Menz 22-10 was swinging it at 6250... the MSC was 6900. So I CUT the tips off the muffler?? I'll see if I have a picture for you guys to let me know if this has already been done( it may have been ) I didn't look and am away at school so I can't go check.

Also would I have to cut the cowl up with the stock?? Does it stick out that far? Oh and noise is not an issue at my field. I'm tempted to see if I can get one.

Found a pic, let me know if you can tell if it has been cut.

Status: online 		rcflyer96's figures are pretty much in line on the Menz S 22x10. I tried one on my DA when I first got it and those are the numbers I got also. Just too much prop for it.

Status: online 		my brison will swing a menz 22 x 8 at 7200 very strong engine for the price. i can swing a 23 x 8 mejzlik at 6300 to much load for the motor on a J & A peacekeeper. Power band is better in the 6500-7500 range.

2700 ft ASL.
