I assume you are using a genuine AFP Interface cable?

Do you have any other radios to try? If it works on 1 radio, then it's most likely the DSC port on the radio.

i have a futaba 7cap that i want to try but i dont have the connection to try it with. i cant order it because i have no credit card. i do have a trainer cord the has the right connection and if i had somone to tell me how to wire it up i could try it. all i would have to do is pell apart the connector and solder the wires to the pins.
on my trainer cord the connection has four wiresone red on the top left pin one white on the top middle pin one yellow on the bottom left pin, and one black on the bottom middle pin. i could cut the adapter i have that has the old style connector and solder those wires to the new connection. only proble3m is that i dont know what pins to solder to the pin. any one could easily pull apart their connecter and tell me. the sqare connecter comes apart very easily and you cant damage the connection. i could sure use the help, zack
