Futura,

I guess besides the Walkera 22 sharing the parts are you saying a lot of the Hornet parts fit the VNR3D. that woudl be cool. Helihobby is only 15 minutes from my work. I could get parts and start shipping parts via envelopes if someone needed them in a hurry - haha.

JD

I need to start working on a cross reference book !!!

yup, the hornet has a different tail so nothing in that direction....but. The head parts including the swash and up will fit. One point here though.....the hornet does not have a notched main shaft....(that little flat spot where the alum head block set screw holds). I took a dremel to my main shaft on my 22a and simply made a small indentation for that set screw to do its holding job. The hornet uses a pin that goes through the main shaft.

If it were me, I would switch over to the hornet II main shaft and get the one way bearing setup. It is possible even to do away with the motorized tail and install the hornet shaft driven tail but though this will help performance, it also adds substantial complexity to your setup and is a major source of vibration if not setup right or when the parts get worn. the best tail solution for a hornet II is the MicroHeli CNC tail w/titanium tail shaft and blue gears.

Let me give you some part numbers for the head....

This would make a great main gear...you would not be using the center gear which is for the tail...and you may need to set the pinion out further on the motor shaft but this would set you up to use all the hornet head parts including the CNC head.

PART#IP5990
$35

This would be the new way of attaching the head to the main shaft....new head block
PART#IP5890
$29

and this
PART#IP5909
$15

These three parts would allow you to use either your NR3D head parts or Alternative Hornet II parts or with that main shaft and gear above, you can just use this...

but that's a ton of money for sure....

If you do not elect to change the main shaft and gear, than head parts other than these three would be interchangable....

I will get to Reseda on Monday and go by Helihobby and see if I can get some parts. I will obviously need them if you don't.

First things are Blade Grips I guess.

I heard that the hornet parts are not a direct replacement. The grips or the blades or something would need to be modified.

I will let you know if I get them. Have you heard if the aluminum parts are available yet?

sounds expensive. Are you saying you like the hornet head better (why) or just if you can't get the night ranger parts then switch over to the hornet parts?

idk, but the cost of crashing and paying for shipping n all the other stuff. it would be nice to get some aluminum so we dont need to keep on ordering parts. Cause my LHS said that they wont carry any type of Venom products n ther store for some reason.

With regard to uploading pictures:

I am testing the upload. Now I just need to get a picture of my Night ranger. Theses 4 helis are the rotofly, Sabre, Showgun and Logo 10.

Seems like it worked good. Now how do you load a picture under your name?

haha

Get an ESC unit that allows you to program slow start. If the heli takes off, the blades start so slow, you can stop it before it flys away or hits the ceiling.
