You can't put a price on great customer service, great quality, Excellent parts availability, superb performance, just to name a few.

Here's a short video of my Intrepid Gasser running the G23. Now that I am running the G26 the performance is unlimited! Oh, and coming soon, a cool new look.

I can get excellent service, parts for vario stuff just as easy. Through states, I have to pay custom and other stuff.. not worth pursuing..

Nice little video clips. Thanks for sharing.
I cannot afford a bergen gasser so has to opt for vario
Are you saying Vario is your second choice?
Just Kidding.

Malorie,

I don't mind a bergen.. in fact my old x-cell has the bergen parts in it. Just that new stuff crossing border from retailer can cost me an arm and a leg charge by the customs when they declared the value of the product. Say for instance, the bergen gasser.. how much was that?.. on top of that I have to pay the lousy exchange on USD and DUTY.. ahhh.. Last time I'd chatted with chris on the phone about the x-cell parts.. took him about a week to get back to me on the email, cited that he was too busy, I was at the time in desperate needs of parts .. ended up getting a better deal somewhere else up here. For vario parts I can gets it in 3 days from New Brunswick and readily available, if my money for the parts is readily available as well

It has to be Vario or JR for the best gasser on the market.
CCPM anything else is just out dated. Why not have 3 or 4 servos do the work instead of just one.
My first choice would be JR then Vario and then the new CCPM Xcell Extreme.

Just my opinion

Hi All, I fly a Bergen Gasser and can't say enough about it's performance and duribility. I would buy another one. Customer service is great and you can talk to the Larry Bergen if you need to, to get help. That means something.

Is it easy to convert a Bergen Gasser to scale?

Dr. Tim would have that answer for you.

BTW, the Bergen costs about the same as the Vario. Let's not forget that the Bergen price includes the engine.

Not missing anything.

So your saying put a nice pair of blades in the Bergen kit and they cost about the same?

Close
I'm saying you get ccpm an engine with over 1hp more a stainless exhaust system, stretched for 810mm blades and the blades along with a fiberglass canopy.
To add all of this to a Bergen would cost over $500.00.
Makes for a very expensive heli but I could be wrong.

CCPM is not necessarily an upgrade. The 810s really aren't needed with the lighter gasser machines. The G231PUH is now the stock engine in the Intrepid Gasser kit. It is the same engine as the RC230 except that the head is a four bolt head and it is mounted to the G23's crankcase with porting mods on the case. So it is the same HP rating as the RC230 only much lighter and as we all know, lighter is always better in a flying machine.

In short, $500 would be streching the truth some. When you are talking about a grand and a half, the $100 or so isn't that much of a consideration IMO.

My point is just that it really isn't all that much of a difference in price when it comes down to brass tacks. It really comes down to what you are looking for in a machine.

I would always choose the Bergen because I am into 3D and not scale.

Just my thoughts on it,
Malorie

I would go with the JR if 3D is what you are wanting. The same engine 231 as the Bergen but lighter and basically the same machine as the new Curtis machine Fiberglass canopy CCPM so if you use 8311 servos you have 450oz of torque controlling the swash plate instead of 150oz. and no complicated linkages.
"Thats the upgrade"
If the number one guy in the world fly's the machine I would look a lot closer.

But I'm not a rep for any of the companies so this is just my opinion.

Also the RC230 is now the RC260 which does have more power than the 231 but adds about 1lb. more to the machine.

I have flown the JR GS 3D and it is a show stopper with 710mm blades. Its light and if you setup the machine like Curtis does it rips.

As far as the Benzin if you get the 710mm version its even cheaper yet and still includes everything listed in the above thread.
