Here's one that may be a good idea. Similar from Ottawa and SW zones with Ottawa's a little more encompassing;

"4. The safety committee be comprised of a representative from each MAAC discipline where that representative be the chariman or delegated rep. of each SIG and up to one other MAAC member from each zone"

At first glance it seems a good idea. However after some thought maybe not so. We have 36 sub-committees. Some of them need not be represented on the safety committee. Would we need a member of the Archives committee for example. We could still end up with about 20 discipline members, add to that 13 zone reps and we would have a 33 member committee. A committee that size would be too unwieldy to function. Even if we could get enough volunteers.

Maybe forget zone representation. After all Pylon Racing has the same issues in Ontario as it has in B.C. Maybe a discipline chairman should automaticaly be on the safety committee.

A parallel resolution (no.5) from the SW zone is more along that line. Ed makes a good point as some of the committees are not flying related and shouldn't be a part of it.

The recommendation reads "The safety committee be comprised of a representative from each MAAC discipline " NOT from each MAAC committee.

Absolutely correct Bob.

The intent was that members of the safety committee come from the flying disciplines.
