Tom,

I'm glad to hear that your school project is working out. Yes, it is safe to charge in the plane when using either the Cellpro or BalancePro HD chargers. We now sell "Y" adapters to make this easier so you don't have to disconnect the DPM (if using one). In a few weeks, the 3' Cellpro extension cables will arrive to make an easier connection between your pack and the charger.

Qban,

I recently rewired the last of my 3-cell Kokam packs with Cellpro pigtails. One pack was similar to your description and the other pack was too far gone. Two of the cells read 4.3v and the third was 3.8v. One of the 4.3v cells was bloated which I couldn't detect with the shrink wrap on.

When you initially charge an older converted pack, sometimes the Cellpro charger takes a long time to make the pack balanced again. On subsequent chargers, it is much faster.

rumple,

No, the Cellpro charger (and BPHD charger) do not have discharge capability. It would be a nice feature though to add a "Half-Charge" mode so you could easily obtain this level after your last flight. I'll send it to Engineering.

Regards.

This I found the Cellpro 4S to be a marvelous device in the way it restores, revitalize and balances packs. The FMA CP-TP/PQ adapter for the charger worked wonders on packs I believed too far gone to be of any use. For that I am grateful.

As I have stated before here and elsewhere, I have finally found the right charger for all my Li-Po charging needs in the Cellpro 4S.

I have your cellpro 4s charger and the new charge adapter. EXCELLENT PRODUCT! I have a question, on the adapter there is a space to allow a 5 cell socket for either a TP or PQ battery type. I know your 4s system will not handle a 5 cell but I am trying to get these sockets especially the PQ one. Do you know the supplier of the TP and the PQ socket/plugs? THANKS I need these for another project AND someday consider expanding the EXCELLENT 4s UNIT TO A 5s ONE!!!

Hi all, I have purchased the Cellpro 4s Balancing charger and it has worked flawlessly since day one. I am very pleased with this charger and probably purchase a second one so I can charge two batteries at once. I do have a question. I just purchased A Common Sence Lipo with a Thunder Power to Common Sense balance plug adapter. I was going to use this set-up to connect the battery to my TP-205 balancer. Can I use the Common Sense to TP adapter with my Cellpro 4s with the FMA CP-TP/PQ adapter to charge the Common Sence Lipo? I hope this isn't to confusing.

Thanks in Advance.

Rich

Greg,

I've asked before, but its been several months. Any plans to expand adapter line for new Cell Pro charger, oh say for example Duralite Brand.

And another unrelated question, what are your thoughts on using your Cell Pro 2cell 1250mh 15c for a direct drive speed 400 turning a little Gunther 125x110 (I'm guess meteric) prop. I'm also thinking of using in my Multiplex Space Scooter, GWS Formosa and GWS Slo-Stick (350 speed).

I'm currently running your FMA
3200mha 11.1 - got 2ea Use in Multiplex Magister and TwinStar II
1250mha 11.1 - got 2ea Use in Icarus SU27XXL
3200mha 7.4 - got 1ea Use in Multiplex EasyGlider Electric (converted to Brushless)
Non FMA Duralite
1800mha 20C Use in MiniUltra Stick, I also run your 1250mha 15c.

Dave

Looks like FMA has stopped updating this area. I believe they are in transition with battery line from Kokam to in-house product. I do know the storage charge rate for a Lipo should be 40%. I typically look at the maximum charge of a 3cell, about 12.6 and low cut off 9, then split the difference at about 10.6 volts. Don't know how accurate this is, but bottomline is you don't want to store full charged or at complete discharge level.

Best of luck.

Most of my Lithium Polymer packs have come 45 to 50% charged from their factory. If I have to store them for a lengthy period of time I make sure they are taken down to a similar power level.

The FMA Cellpro 4S charger with its Fuel Gauge feature provides me with an accurate measurement of the amount of "fuel", percentage wise, lef in the pack.

Not really! FMA CellPro/BalancePro packs are availbale in stock. Li Po cells should be stored at 50% charge which is 3.81V /cell. During production, all cells are charged/discharged 2 1/2 cycles to arrive at 50% charge for shipment. See Page 18 of Ref http://www.fmadirect.com/support_docs/item_1197.pdf to see how to use Gas Gauging available as part of the FMA CellPro chargers to verify storage capacity.

Fred, sorry about the wrong info. it's what my local hobby shop told me. They are no longer carrying your battery packs.

I just wanted to add, I recently bought the pigtail for the Cellpro 4S and followed the instructions very carefully to rewire a battery from another vendor to work with the charger and it all turned out great! A majority of my packs are FMA however I needed a pack to meet a physical size that you did not have. Keep up the good work.
