Holy Cow I cant wait, I cant wait, where can I look at something about the 5985, the 5945 was is awsome but now a new one, it will be bad ass foshure.

The new Hitec servo can be seen in the Hitec 2006 catalog.

i have probably 30 of the 5945 servos. will we still be able to have them serviced when needed. i fly imac and change out servos regularly when slop develops and they need gear train replacement. thanks for the help. toby silhavy....

Why are they discontinuing the 5945? This is the most popular servo in giant scale and Hitec is replacing it! Stands to reason when something works good they just have to change it.

It's the same as the 5945 except it has a shaft bearing I believe.

Just making a good product better without charging more... Isn't that what a good manufacturer is supposed to do?

The 5985MG is basically the same servo as the 5945MG but with the bushed case top like we use in the HS5955TG.

O.K. I'm all for quality Improvemnt. The bushing in the top case is definatley a great Improvement.
The 5945 Is all I use and It has been a great servo. Sounds like the 5985 is the same, but Improved.

I emailed HITEC Service and their response to me is: "Different motor, new case design and gear train". Sounds like a whole new servo to me.
