almost finished with the MD-11. As you can see, I fitted airbrakes to the wings which is not part of the original design.

Specifically the electronics. I liked it and would like to duplicate your setup.

Hi Larry,

This is my "Real Engine" sound device, it has 20 different engine sounds proportional to the engine stick and 35 sound effects in 5 galleries of 7 sounds each one.

it is controlled by a receiver in the same frecuency than the airplane you are flying and you can plug it to earphones or a amplifier(to a crowd exhibition).

Here is another video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaNVwn4jt7U

Although the commentaries are in spanish, you can hear the sound engines and the sound effects perfectly.

It is developed with a pic microcontroller a little amplifier, a sd/mmc memory card and a 500 lines source code program to controll all.

In this moment this device isn't still in the market.

If you want more info, let me know

Hi Larry - I haven't been watching this thread for a bit...got sidetracked with a Nitro Models Bobcat 52, and having a blast with it. I am planning on coming over to the left coast to the jet thing in October - have you flown the jet yet? I'll read backwards from here, but I just got the flyer and came here to check up on you with that beautiful jet you were building before you bailed from the Florida humidity and hurricanes!

Talk to you soon,
Mark

I hope to be there with both my American Airlines 777 and my B-58. The B-58 just completed a major overhaul all new motors and two new fans. The nacelles are no longer scale so you have to squint when you see it. I tried to do it with depron but it was a disaster not because of the depron but because I tried for a quckiee. I had to order balsa to repair the surgery none of the LHS had 1/16. Nobody builds any more. I fixed the AA before I left hurricane alley. I have yet to test it however.

I do not watch this thread much either. Most of my stuff is now on RCG. Do not bother to check I am not going to update until I have some flight videos.

Best - Larry

Hi Larry,

You had to "ORDER" balsa???? What the heck is going on in this hobby???? I guess the same thing going on in this country in general: We don't want or know how to manufacture things any more, so we buy things pre-built from the Chinese....it's sad. Personally, I LOVE building! I'm forcing my 10 year old to build a plane, and I make him wrench on my planes with me just so he learns how to hold and use tools...he fights me on it until he gets a tool in his hand, and then he seems to really like it. So I'll keep pushing for sure. Next I'll teach him how to grow food, so when the "great depression" hits, at least we'll have one more person that can do more than reach for his ATM card and run to Walmart.

Both of my LHS's (G&C Hobbies and CraftHouse Hobbies) stock balsa, hardwood, lite ply, and carbon fibre. I would be happy to bring some up with me next month if you need it. Let me know...

Give me a link to your stuff on RCG...

Hello all,

I have finally put together my 301 kit as an "American Airlines" jet but have not flown it yet. After this assembly I have discovered a few issues which I will fix before attempting the first flight. For that I will disassemble the fuselage, make a few modifications (especially the undercarriage), re-do the main retracts (current carbon fiber-based assembly will be replaced by aluminum) and the clear passenger windows will be secured using a stronger glue. I will post more pictures when I am done.

I took some pictures of the model before I start the disassembly/assembly.

Cheers,
Serdar
