Hi Travis,

By "next" Saturday, do you mean 4/22? If so, I'll try to come out and get my buddy to come out too.

Is the enclosed linkage on the PII allowed in "sport"quickie or "slo" quickee? I hope that doesn't become another point to get yelled at.

My Excite F5D is waiting for ESC and motor repair/refurbishment after my too long demo flight at a 3D fly-in at Menifee Valley last month. I hope that was my first and last smoke trail from my electrics.
I picked up a used Avionik D99 and just test flew it yesterday with a Neu 1110/1.5Y, 4S1P TP 2100, and apc 4.2x4. It is moving very nicely

Reno,

I ordered 2 Predators last night and the $30 off was the best deal I could find. The plane's cost is actually very cheap considering I ordered a backup Phoenix 80 ESC at $135
We're getting the GMS .25 since it is BB and Tower didn't even list the Thunder Tiger Pro .25, only the TT GP .25 which is bushed.
We'll probably go with the TT Pro .40 when we're ready to tangle a little more.

But first, we'll need a good racer to show us "the lines". I certainly would appreciate Travis doing a test flight and letting us see the pilot's perspective.

Hi Ron,

Sorry you will be out of town, I think the next event with all those classes will be some time the end of June.

Yeah Dan, the races will be going on April 22nd and 23rd. If you can make it out that would be great. I am glad to hear you guys have some interest. I know both of you guys enjoy the electric side, but for pylon you are lucky to live in So Cal we have a lot of glow races and with a few more guys it will only get better. Dan I have seen your Excite, if you can handle that like I know you can you for sure can handle a 424 plane.

Anyway hope to see you next weekend and I will try and help out as much as I can.

Travis

Well, I guess you just never know what you're going to get in an ARF!

If I read the rules correct it states fuse sides must me at least 2.875 inches at it's widest point.

Fuse one measured 2.895"

and fuse two measured 2.901"

That's pretty darned close!

Looks like I'm good to go!

Happy Easter Everyone!

IT WOULD BE NICE IF DISTRICT 8 WOULD ALOW THESE PRED 2 IN 428. I KNOW WITH A TT40 PRO. THIS WOULD BE HARD TO BEAT IN 424. HAPPY EASTER TO YOU TOO.

Ed,

District 8 is where they are doing the experiment in limiting the airframe to the Viper 500 for 428 local racing. See the first message in Growth of the Sport. I'm not sure if it is all of District 8 or just part of it.

Unless they put a spar or carbon in the wing.... I may not be safe for 428.

I can safely say I would NOT RECOMMEND the Predator II for AMA 428. I had mine out today and on the 8th flight after puling a hard turn the plane went into a spiral into the trees. It happened fast but it looked like the wing folded about 1/2 way out. I won't know for sure until we get it down from the tree. Right now it is almost 50' up so it is hard to see anything clearly. On a good note it did fly very well up until that point and my fairly new Nelson was found on the ground with no damage other than a broken needle.

looks like we 424 racers now have another plane to chose from.
