Currently I own a Zenoah G62; however, I will soon be needing several more 62 cc engines. I am interested in the fugi - especially if onboard starter is made available again.

What is the opinion of the group regarding Fuji engines - quality vs. price vs. performance?

I realize the 64 is the newest size, but it is also the most appealing one for me.

Thanks in advance - peter

I'm looking into chosing between both of those engines for a 16-18lb plane. If you find anything out, please let me know.

thanks,

If the on-board starter feature of the Fuji appeals to you, one is available for the G62 from Hobby Lobby (for less money too).

My buddy and I are both building 1/3 GP Pitts. He put in the FUJI 50 (now the 64). He has problems with the engine. When we indicated the crank we found a 4 thou run out. The whole plane vibrates vicously. GP says the engine is still in spec. RIGHT!!!!! He found the problem when he installed his engine starter though. Cool thing. Works great. Kinda expensive... The engine is going to a shop to have it trued.

A converted G62 weighs 4 1/2 lbs without muffler, shows 37 lbs pull with a 24-8 prop, spring scale on the tailwheel..Of course, according to some people HERE, is overweight, underpowered, dumb, simple and too costly..$500.00..

PVillas,
I had a G-62 in a TF 1/5 P-51,and at 25lbs it was awesome.I now have a GP 1/3 Pitts w/Fuji 64,and have not run it yet.I live just west of Allentown, and fly at TCWS field in Lenhartsville.I will post info on engine when I run it,and you can see the Pitts fly with it at our field.I don't know if you Know Dave Renninger, but he is a friend who lives in Reading, and flies at our field. If you're interested let me know.
Erik

Rcign,
I'm with you....I can't understand why so many people are against this great engine! I have one (G62) on a GP Patty Wagstaff and its Awesome! Unbelievable vertical and great running. The best part is I know it will fly a much larger plane. Everyone says its too heavy, but my plane 3ds with the best of 'em. I have the G45 on the H9 80"CAP and am really happy with it too. And I can spend the money I saved on more stuff!

Hi Eric,

I am a member of the TCWS as well - I know Dave R., also. I will have to get to the field when this engine is out - peter
