Nice! That must have been on Friday or saturday, because Sunday was a friggin' hurricane! What happened to you guys coming up my way to the nosebleed section? Where we really need to go is Chatfield. For you, you may not notice much, but I can definitely tell the difference between 6800 feet here and their 5400 feet when it comes to P2W...

Thanks Bodyworks. I think my Duralite Plus batteries have "bit the dust". I will probably make the switch to Fromeco stuff since that have an excellent reputation. What size and how long can you fly on your receiver pack(s)?

Sounds good. What is your complete Fromeco setup (i.e. switches that I have my eye on are the ones that fit the Cermark cutout), what regulators, peerless or regular batteries, JR connectors, Fromeco charger or another brand, etc etc?

I opted for the standard switch that comes with the Fromco regulators because they are the lighteset you can get. They are just a little receptical that you slip a supplied metal pin into to turn them off. The batteries are the regular Fromecos with Deans Ultra connectors, which is where I plug my charger to charge the batteries (you have to unplug them at the end of the day anyway). I also opted for dual outputs on both regulators. This way I have 4 power wires distributing the current to my receiver. Of course this completely fills up my 10ch receiver!

Well guys,
Maidened to 260 today..WoW!!! What a great flying airplane...Flies like to weighs 20 lbs!! Two servo's in the tail worked out fine..As a matter of fact,it was still a little nose heavy without spinner, and batt, reg. and rx mounted just behind the wing tube..DA100 makes it a rocket!! Now for the bad news...Fuel line and clunk double up on me..While pulling out if torque roll at about 15 ft the motor quite...Airplane had just enough room to flop over and hit directly, straight down vertical on the nose from about 15 ft...Photo's show the damage...This airframe is strong!!!With just a little work, it'll be ready to go again..Althought, I think I will buy another fuse(Mark, please give me a call)..It did bend the wing tube, got the cowling, and the firewall, but other than that, not to bad....I liked this thing so well. I'll have two before long..(as soon as the wife won't notice the extra money gone!!!)
Anyways, for anyone considering this airframe, go for it!! NO pitch coupling balanced a little nose heavy, and just a little roll..Needed just a litte down elev. mix on the downlines, but other than that, a super airplane..MARK, please email me your number..I need to see about getting another fuse headed my way...Just to nice of a airplane to addthe extra weight of fixing the nose....Thanks Jim

JLB, I have my QB 260 balanced at 3 1/2". Falconpilot, sorry to hear about your kissing terra firma. A friend of mine who is an expert pilot and AMA pattern flyer helped me trim this baby out. Oh, DA 100, Mejzlik 28 x 10, 32 oz DuBro tank and weight 28.5 lbs. All we did for 64 oz of fuel today was get the plane to fly hands off knife edge both ways and yaw only with rudder application. It took about 3 clicks of up mixed to right rudder apllication and 2 clicks of up mixed to left rudder application. It took 3 clicks of left aileron mix with right rudder and a bit less (2 clicks) with right rudder mix with left aileron application. That made the plane fly like a completely different airplane. I mean like it was really good before the trimming out but now it is really GREAT.

Finally finished and flew the 260 for the first time yesterday. We were able to get 1gal of fuel though it and should be able to get another 2gal today. As has probably been documented in this thread, there are three things I don't like about the kit and these are at best minor issues. 3mm screws are garbage. Order some replacement from microfasteners.com(part numbers are SBMS3016 and SBMS3006). Don't know why anyone would want to use a 27oz fuel tank in a 100 size plane, so I replaced it with a Dubro 32oz. Replace the 4-40 rods used for linkage with some titainium turnbuckles. I used 4-3" (for ailerons) and 2-2.5" (elevator) Hangar 9 turnbuckles. These are the only issues from keeping this arf from being a 10 out of 10. I would rate it at a 9.9. This plane has it all build in as far as it's capablities of 3d flying and IMAC. I'm not sure if it's possible to get an arf packaged any better than this one, but as time goes on it will happen. I'd like to see this QB260 in a 40%. Can't say enough about how complete this arf is and how easy the assembly was. I've never put an arf together that I didn't have to install blindnuts, glue in control surffaces and drill out the wheel pants. WOW!! Thank you Aeroworks. Great Job! One question for Mark. I noticed in my kit there were two motor templates. One for a DA100 and one for a 3W, but when I held them together the look Identical. So what's that about?

It is interesting to see all the different weights. Buz Bo, yours is definitely the lightest of the bunch, especially considering that you have cannisters and an extra 8-10 ounces of battery compared to most. I am rconsidering this plane. The QQ yak ain't all it's cracked up to be, IMO. I have seen several of these planes fly and I can tell that they are rock-solid. I just hope I have a winning lottery ticket when it comes to getting a light one! I'll accept 26 pounds with a BME, even if it means I need to go CF.
