They're not showing how the maple landing gear blocks go on the retract ribs.
It's looking as if you set them so as the retracts will sit flush with the bottom of the two landing gear ribs.

Is this correct?

I am very interested in building the Skyraider and will be retiring for the second time in two weeks. I now will have time to do it right. Let me know your thoughts and what equipment you are using on yours.
Thanks

The skyraider is a great choice. It has alot of squar inches of wing.
Ziroli size plane just fly great.

I've been working on it for a month now and I'm doing the final sheeting on the wings this weekend.
The fuse is ready for glass. Motor and motor mount are installed.

another month and a half to two months she'll be turn key.

I'm using a G-62 and 90 oz servos on flying surfaces.

Thanks Scott, andy reservations about the G62 being enough? I have two of them and have been very impressed, both on C&H Ign. What retracts? What wing loading can be expected?

I have flown a Yellow AT-6 that has a 101 inch span and it flew beutifully. Everyone puts a G-62 in that size of Texan.
The race guys are also using the same combination.

The skyraider is pretty much the same size, span, and weight, so it should work very well.

Hi Guys,

I have one of the original Skyraider's that were built from Nick's plans. I have just put it through restoration which took four months. I have a stock Zenoah G-62 and she weighs 40 lbs. You would'nt believe how it flies on that engine. I would have NEVER thought it would fly the way it does. Honks around pretty darn good. That is a great economical little powerplant I tell you.

Email me anytime for pics....

All the best,

I know there are guys out there that turn their noses up at the G62, but look at which engine is the most often used in big war birds. If a G 62 leaves the ground it will always come home running, with very few exceptions. I have a buddy in Birmingham who turned me onto them and I have newer been sorry. Oh yea I have a couple of high bred's but I look to the G 62 for reliability. I am flying a 37 pound float plane with all the scale harware hanging out in the breeze and it is as fast as you want it to be. It has never quit on me.
