Status: offline 		I am putting together my Brio right now, my question is this... I have an Eflite 480 Outrunner but it is the 910kv not the 1020kv. Could I get away with using this motor? I have a 40A ESC (v2) and 2100mAh battery. Was planning on using a 12x6 APC but I have an 11x7 too. Any help would be apreciated, on paper the 910 and 1020 are pretty close.

Status: offline 		I tried that motor, and the performance on the Brio was horrible.

It barely got off the ground. Very animic and underpowered.

The 910kv ended up in a Mini-Pulse XT, it turned out to be PERFECT for that plane.

Now I'm running an inexpensive ( B.P. Hobbies) BP 2915-5D 550w motor on the Brio using a big 11v 4000mAh LiPo.

This is a relabeled TowerPro motor.

Status: offline 		I have a question about that "horrible flight performance", what ESC, Battery, and prop were you running? did you ever hook it up to a watt meter and see what the specs were??

Status: offline 		Recommended prop, battery and ESC with the 480 910KV motor instead of the 1020kv.

Another guy at the field had his also set up exactly like mine, except he was using the 1020kv motor.

His performance was much better and the plane did not seem underpowered.

I've since transfered the electronics to the Mini-Pulse, and the Mini-pulse flies like I had hoped the Brio would.

Status: offline 		Finally maddened the Brio. Using the BP A2814-6 Brushless Out runner Motor that ELECTRON recommended. All I can say is woo hoo I can fly the Brio fast, or real so, unlimited vertical at 3/4 throttle. Have been flying the plane more as a pattern IMAC bird. Can do the IMAC basic pattern easy with it. Like this plane a lot.
