Hmm! Didn't know that... I never noticed anything different with my plane carbs and my lawn equipment carbs.

It doesn't happen on weedwackers and chainsaws because the people that use them don't take the carbs apart to put throttle linkage on them...The screws on Walbro carbs are staked on the back side..It's impossible for a screw to come out by itself...Somewhere along the line SOMEONE took the screw out and didn't use thread locker on the threads....

Ditto.........if the butterfly has NEVER been removed, that little screw won't come out. Been flying gassers for 6 years. Running chainsaws for 28 years.... never lost one yet.

I never took out the throttle butterfly, but I did take out take out the choke butterfly thing. Oddly enough, that hasn't come undone. I'm using the stock throttle arm.

hey Adam, how do they get the 28cc capacity in the SPE 28? Is the 26 bored out a little or do SPE use a longer stroke? Maybe us guys with the 26 may be able to get a few more cc's for a few more revs! It would be interesting to know. Adam, have you pulled apart the 28cc and compared it to the 26cc? Is it an easy modification? We'd all love to know![)]

Well thats a bummer would hate to have my engine killed buy a loose screw but i haven't messed with any of the screws in the carb so i dont think i'll worry to much if it happens, it happens. Then i can get a 28CC.. Well i changed the prop to an 18X6 runs smoother idels better. and has alot more thrust. only have 1 1/2" clearance between the ground and the prop. THink i will get some bigger wheels for it to get more clearance. Going to have to watch out for the dirt clods on landing. should fly good i'm hoping. Transition is a little slower with a bigger prop but expected with more mass spinning out there, still not to bad.

Oh and i weighed the plane full of fuel and its exactlly 10LBS..

Do you have some way of measuring thrust? I was just wondering how much that 18x6 was blowin' out.

Has anyone seen the 28cc? It's not on the website.

Well i probably could figure out the thrust if my math skills weren't so rusty. But not that conserned about it. if it pulls the plane off the ground and flys thats good enough for me. I would imagine the 28CC engine looks just like the 26CC engine. Its only 2 CC bigger. pretty sure it just the 26 Boared out.

Has anyone noticed that the BCMA 43cc and the MT42 appear to be basic the same engine, looks like to me that the head has just had a end mill run down it to give it that dished in look, of course dont know if it is using the same carb. but the crank case and the cylinder look the same except for the extra milling

The 28 cc has been removed from the website, I guess it was a typo or something.

I kinda thought it odd to have an engine that was 2 cc bigger would't be that big an advantage i wouldnt think.

I was wondering about that, too. The weight is listed as identical and the power is within a couple hundred rpm on the same size prop. Any reason to pick one over the other?

Thanks,
Mark

The SPE line and the MT line were designed by the same person, just under two different labels. It would be expected that they would have a similar flavor.
