JD,

I receive my DX6 today, if you have the time could you list the pitch curves and throttle settings for the Walkera 60. I am sure others would like to see them also. Do you have it all setup to fly normal and 3D? Also when I set up my Phoenix ESC with the programmer, is their a file you can send I can just upload to the ESC? I was wondering about purchasing a new 9cu futaba radio for my new heli, but you seem to think that the DX6 should work pretty well for it too. Is that the right assumption? I think the DX6 only has 3 throttle and pitch curve settings, will that be sufficient? Anyway if you can post or email the settings so I can set mine up like yours, maybe this way I wont have any problems, ha I doubt it.

Thanks
Argos

I like your Venom Night Ranger! (It is Sweet)

Argos,

Yes, I will type up the DX6 Settings. In fact I listed all the settings in the manual the other night in preparation. The manual has a page for listing your settings, I suppose you should copy it so you could do many aircraft.

I know a guy that is selling a NR3D and a bunch of parts. Maybe about $300 worth of stuff. I think he is asking around $200 negoitiable.

I might have a file, but if you have the computer link I could just tell you the settings for that too. I am going to set up my TREX on the DX6 Also.

By tomorrow I should recieve my parts for the Walkera 60's. then I should get in some good flights. I haven't flown my Walkera 60 with the brushless motor yet waiting on a seasaw part. And my brushed motor is getting weak on my other walkera 60, so I will install a new one when I get the parts.

I'm going out at 7:30PM so I will try to post the settings by 5:30PM tonight for the DX6 both normal and mode 2(sport). And hopefully the for the phoenix 35. Which motor do you have on your 60? I think you know I put the same brushless motor on my Walkera 60 as I put on my TREX. It shouldn't change the phoenix setup any I think your brushless has plenty of power probably. The main thing is to turn brake off (disable) and set it to very soft start. I use the default power setting. It mixes your desire for power versus flight time, I use the average power with average flight time, the default. And to set the power cut off to soft also. you dont want it to just shut off you want it to just get weak and let you come down gently.

JD

My Eclipse 7 has 5 steps in the throttle curve but even with its QCPM receiver I have taken radio hits on my Showgun.

talk to you tonight.

Aros,

Yep thats the page alright.

I'm not sure how to put my numbers in your form.

I don't really use MS Paint.

I could try to take a picture of the page I filled out and then post it.

I'll figure something out even if I have to type it all in. And there are several settings that don't change like the ATL's
so I could just post the main ones you have to change. and then we can just generally mention the others.

JD

Mainly reversing, Throttle curve, pitch curve and swash settings

To tighten the blades, hold the heli on it's side. The Blades (Main & Tail) should be tightened enough so as to keep them from just falling down out of straight line. And, not sooo tight it takes a hand adjustment to straighting. It blades are too tight they won't seek their own equalibrium in spin-up. If they're too loose vibration will occure as in bot cases. There is a thread in the #36 forum about blade adjustment. good luck

Hi JD,

I recently purchased a Walkera 60 and have been reading your conversations with Argos about this model helicopter, and having found that the operators manaul is very deficient, I am in need of assistance. Funny how the manual shows you how to fly inverted, but not where or how to mount the battery pack!

I have many questions but will try to be concise and hope you (or anyone else) can answer them:

1) One of the rear rotor blades came loose from the factory and will not tighten. Did the model come from the factory stripped or is the blade meant to be loose? How tight should the rear and main rotors be?
2) I too have experienced unexpected and severe, "glitching" by the servos. I have a standard brush motor and ESC. Is the solution to this problem to replace the receiver or the ESC or something else?
3) Both the main rotor and tail rotors seem to be off balance. Can gyro adjustments address these problems and if not how do I get the rotors balanced?
4) Where do you suggest ordering spare parts for the Dragonfly 60 (blades, brushless motors, esc's and lito batteries)?

Any advise you have would be greatly appreciated!!

-Scooter

Argos,

Spectrum DX6 settings,

First step is to change it from airplane to Helicopter then and I name them so for Model 1 go to the next menu and change to 60 (since I have two, I named one 60N and one 60F (normal and fast)):

Reverse servo (N=Normal, R= Reverse)
1N, 2R, 3R, 4N, 5N, 6N
Sub Trim - all start at zero
Travel adj - all start at 100%
CCPM Mixing - On
2 = +60%, 3 = +60%, 6= -60%

throttle curve
N= 0,70,100
S=100,85 (H cannot be changed it is 100%)
Pitch
N= 30,50,90
S= 10,50,90
H=55,55,55
This is how I have mine set.
I am not using expo or dual rate.
You may want full pitch but I tone mine down a little.
Of course you could have it toned down with full range by using dual rate.

The main thing that is manditory is to set the servos either normal or reverse and the CCPM swash settings per above.

I hope this helps.
JD
