Argos,

Does that mean its operating perfect now? You'll dig the feel of the controller. Nice hand grip feel, And you wont miss that big antenna. No more glitch!!!

Let me know after you fly it how you do.

JD,
Flew it seconds ago. Couple of problems still. The rpm of the blades seem to be slower, the counter reaction of the throttle and the tail servo is gone. I increase the throttle and have to correct for the rpms torque. I tried adjusting the rudder trim in flight and it seemed to have no effect. Why would my rpms be lower? Throttle curve maybe? I am getting closer.

NO MORE GLITCHING LOVE THAT!!!!!!!!!!

It seems to be slow in responsiveness also. I can put any of the sticks on full left or full right and it just slowly moves that directions. Working on it now.

Grrr.

This is the hobby right.

lol

OK THIS IS MY LEARNING CURVE>>>>>

CP2 and CP3 adjusts the cyclic travel of your swashplate (forward, back, left, right)
CP6 adjust the total up and down travel of the swashplate (pitch of rotor blades)

Argos,

Yes, throttle trim for mid stick must be too low.

Go to 85%

0, 85, 100

If the belt is still tight enough, and the servo has not slide, and the tail rotor blade is still perpendicular to the ground, try adjusting the sensitivity on the gyro, turn it up. Sounds like your not getting enough heading hold.

Argos,

I suppose you could increase the ATL to get a faster response maybe.

Plus with more head speed you should get quicker response.

Does it still seem slow.

I wonder what the response time is on the Walkera servos versus the speed of the DX6 Servo's or vs hitec hb56's. I felt it was slower too but I still have to do more testing and see what the adjustments do (ATL/move connectors to end of the servo horns and then maybe decrease ATL if it is too much throw and binds. I asked the hobby store guy and he said nobody had said anything about the DX6 being slower.

If the whole thing is just slower till it sends the signal to move the only thing we could do is to try and get faster servos or get ours to have more movement for the same input (connect at the end of the servo horn and increase ATL).

Hi JD,

Sorry, not been on for a few days. The feathering shaft is the short rod that passes through the rotor head, and on which the blade grips are bolted. In the case of the Walkera #60, it's 40mm long and 3mm in diameter. You're right, the blade grips bolt on to each end of the shaft, although two allen keys are needed really, one to hold one end steady while you tighten up the other. It worried me that the t-rex shafts come in bags of four - they must get bent very regularly!

Hi George,

I replaced the Walkera Rx with the Hitec Electron 6, as the Walkera wouldn't work with the Hitec Optic 6 Tx. I've managed a few short hops, and I did get a couple of glitches. I'm not sure what caused this, but I still have the Rx arial (antenna) wound round the arial tube attached to the skids, so I think I'll try stretching it out along the tail. It took me ages to get the swash plate moving in the right direction - I think I went through the same pain as Argos with the DX6. Here are my settings -

Looking down on the heli, with the tail at the 12 O'clock position, the servo nearest the tail at the 12 O'clock position is on channel 2, the one at the 8 O'clock position is on channel 1, and the 4 O'clock position, channel 6.
In the setup menu on the Optic, I've selected 120' swash, which enables the swash menu (SWAH). In the SWAH menu, I've got channel 1 set to -70%, channel 2 to -70% and channel 6 to +70%.
In the servo reverse menu, I've got channel 1 set to reverse, and channels 2 and 6 set to normal.

Hope this is useful!

Ok, Here we go again. I have just installed a new 401GY gyro on my Walkera 60... wow a little overkill. I think it worked well before I did this. I had a slight mishap and snapped a blade before this so it may be a combination of things. The heli wants to spin in circles as I increase the throttle, I can barley get it up off the ground and it just spins. I dont have the rudder reversed and no matter how much rudder input I put into the controls it still spins as the torque increases. Everything has been replaced, I dont even think you can call it a Walkera much longer. So all you GURUs out there please take a look at this and tell me whats your opinion. Another thing it seems to shake a whole lot more then it ever did before, but only at low RPMs.

HERE IS A LINK TO THE VIDEO OF WHAT IT IS DOING>BROADBAND NEEDED.
