The Rush is made by spinmaster and sold as airhog, while the aeroace is sold as airhog but was developed by a german firm (Dualit?).
The rush uses nimh and is a much older design.. but it does have a rudder... I almost bought one once, but the aeroace is just too good..

Well then it's settled. I'm going shopping for a Aero Ace. ToysR Us has them for 29.95.

Hey Rog,see what shipping would be for a half dozen of them!
They would make good gifts for the grandkids. It looks just like the air hog except for that fancy colored tx!

The heart of the aero ace is the lithium polymer battery, those ads to the counterfiets say they contain nimh. A safe lipo charger and the cell make even the more expensive real aero ace a better bargain than that fake one.

But at that price, heck, maybe it's ok anyway!?

I've been watching this thread - and wondering what it was doing here in the half A forum. (It's now into it's fourth page!)

Well, I went to Target on Monday with my wife to buy some half-off Easter candy. I wandered into the toy department and saw the Aero Aces on the shelf. I am pretty thrifty, and I hemmed and hawed a good while over blowing thirty bucks on a cheap little toy. My wife said JUST BUY IT ALREADY AND LET'S GO! - and it's usually me that says things like that to her.

To make a long story great, this IS the best $30 I've ever spent on something R/C! Within a day I had made seveal 5 minute plus flights as a bipe, then removed the struts, and then the lower wings, and flew it some more. It felt like these items weighed nothing, but (using my loading scale with .01g resolution) I found that I had reduced the weight from 19.40g in stock form to 17.58g - a savings of over 10%! Recontouring the aft fuselage with a sanding drum on a Dremel reduced it another .4g. I also did the diode mod, and I feel that this is a must. I also tried flying it with additional nose weight, but I actually like flying it with aft CG. It does porpoise around, but a quick well timed blast of power puts it level for a nice effect.

I could go on and on, but this is just my little rave. Many thanks to those who have posted their experiences with the Aero Ace and provided the info for the simple and helpful mods!

Arlen

Yup, Target $30.00 and 24 AA batteries for 10.00. Tried to it fly stock in a light breeze, forget it. Went home and took off the lower wing, added a 6-32X1" screw to the nose and it flew much better. It's a lot of fun to fly!!!!!!!! Went to Radio Shack, picked up the diodes and did the mod. Man that's some small solder joints. Had to break out the magnifing glass.

Waiting for the wind to calm down to try it out.

I had removed the throttle spring but like it better with it connected.

I bought an Aero Ace about 2 weeks ago. Great fun & my first r/c plane.

Last night I did the Diode mod (also my first electronic soldering job). It worked!

Just got back from the park & flying it with the mod. No problem. This should increase flying time since you don't have to give it throttle too.

Question: I was under the impression that only one engine would spin on turns but both do. Is that the way it is supposed to work?

I am seriously considering taking the lower wing off too. Also I might buy another and strip all of the plane engine & electronics out of it and seeing if I can make a "real living room flyer". I can't think of a cheaper way to get a transmitter, receiver, etc.

Paulo810, Yes both motors come on during turns just one more than the other. I'm waiting to totally destroy the airframe on mine to take the guts out and make a styrofoam delta wing racer, but as hard as I've been abusing this thing, it just keeps on flying great!
