I can only assure u, that tornado xp (atomic warhead) can do much more than 45kph. I will prove it soon by making a movie of my car going 40 or 80 meters and then measure exact time. I did some tests with my ELECTRIC car and it actually does 36kph (on 5 year old battery). I am sure tornado xp will do 60 kph, but as soon as i have proof (in a weeks time) i will post it on this forum . And for the 1 speed tranny i have to disagree, i drive my car on 2nd gear (1st is stripped) and on some sand it still spins 4 wheels spreading sand on all ppl watching . Car can have 1 speed tranny and do 70mph, but it will have poor acceleration. All depends on actual gear ratio, if u have 1 speed in your car geared like 2nd gear in a 2 gear tranny it will go as fast as the other car with 2 gears .

i bought the bushnell radar gun, i posted the speeds about a month ago. The volcano was 31mph on 20% nitro bro, no way you got 46 mph. The 2 speed tornado was something like 41mph. Very respectable, not slow but no way near 50mph.

i was thinking about doing the 2 speed trans but i am worried since my tornado rips the gears out 123. how long have you had this setup and how many tanks have you ran thru it?

i have the bushnell radar gun, i wouldnt say its crappy, it actually very accurate. i have a handheld gps and put that on it, it tells you average mph, highest mph and many other things. 31mph on a single speed is very fast, now way you got 46mph. i have 2 speed hpi rs4 on road and it just reaches the 50 mph mark, the traxxas jato just reaches the 50mph mark. Maybe you have it set for kph or something. Not trying to start trouble but for a 1/10th radio controlled anything to reach 45-50mph is a feat in itself no matter what %nitro your running and how well tuned the engine is. I know 100% that the Jato is much faster than the volcano, there is no comparison and i have all i can do to get 50 out of it. I am not putting redcat down, they are fast, the volcano seemed to keep up with my mt but it stripped gears before i could really tell.

Today i conducted some speed measurements of my tornado xp. On 16% nitro it did around 60kph (~37mph). These 2 white lines are 40meters apart. It took ~2.4 sec to reach this distance.
http://mieszkancy.ds.pg.gda.pl/~jimi/auto/warhead/

start line at 0.733 sec , finish line at 3.167 sec
On 1st gear it revs to much higher rpm than on 2nd, so using 20% nitro should add another 5kph.

+1 Top speed with a tuned pipe and HPI gears is 48.5 with a GPS.

i'll do a simple bit of physics and work out what mines does. i'll do 5 tests perhaps and get the average. speed = d/t! im guessin in the 40mph range. traxxas clutch spring, hpi clutch bell and gears, high flow air filter and a torque pipe i believe (associated)
