OK HERE IS THE TRUE SPEED! in the claim it says: With a powerful .18 Nitro Engine & 2 speed transmission the power is unstoppable and able to reach speeds in excess of 60 MPH+. that means THE ENGINE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO DO THAT, ITS A TRICK SENTENCE, READ IT AGIAN>> THE ENGINE IS ABLE to. MODED alittle the car can go 60+ like say..hmm... add a high performance air filter and 25% nitro....... STOCK it goes 55mph.. MINE with ground and time measurements and my mods like a hp air filter, 30%, and more goes 65 mph. there you go.. also check the specs on the redcat tornado xp at the very bottem it says: Top Speed 90km/h (that = 55mph) good luck guys

Stock:

LIGHTNING 50 mph
TORNADO XL 50 mph
TORNADO XP 55 mph
VOLCANO 55 mph
HURICANE XL 60 mph
HURICANE XP 65 mph

LMAO!!...Dude...no offense but I don't think ANYONE can make claims like that until we have actual verified proof....ie: clocked by certified police radar.

yeah, i know what you mean... himoto was in a rc site last year and they said these speeds were "tested"... so who knows...?? USING 100 FEET MARKS AND A STOP WATCH MINE DID CLOCK IN AT APROX. 60 - 65 MPH (thats with 30% nitro, high performance air filter, no body, and warmed up.) i dont think anyone not even redcat knows exactly but i just gave the speeds himoto gives and they sound pretty reasonable....

no way was it doing 65.
i did the 100 foot thing with mine and came in around 30-35mph. and that was the truck. maybe mine is just slow.

no way bro, 65mph. Sorry not many nitro's can reach that speed. 35-40mph but definately not 65.

actually going to go to radio shack now and see if they have the radar gun, will post when i get back, we need to settle this once and for all.

shows a radar gun on radioshacks site, store said it was discontinued. bushnell makes it. gonna check ebay

Well, look at it this way, if the car can reach 60 like they claim, that's great but ... I don't want to hit a jump at even 50mph. I am very happy with the speed of mine. WAY faster than any 1/10 scale ESC car.

i live in the country and there is about a 3mile road thats " NEVER " busy and a local cop i no used his radar gun and i was doing 60mph and then screwed up and smashed full force into a telephone poll...
