Has anyone ever upgraded the wiring inside of the HL tanks? I was thinking of changing the wiring to a bigger gauge wire. I was wondering if anyone has done this already and knew the gauge they used, or even saw a difference in the operation of the tank.

I have a good bit of 18-22 gauge wire on hand that I could use. But if there is no benefit I won't wate my time or wiring.

I'm willing to bet that you would be a pioneer in that regard. Try it and let us know......you've got nothing else to do, cause you're already thinking about it. You're looking for things to do.

Not Really. I was just wondering since I have the tank apart already. I have a plate made for the on/off switch, charging circuit switch, charge plug and volume control. I have to lengthen the on/off and volme switch wiring so I was thinking of just upgrading the wiring while I was at it, but if there is no benefit to it then I won't waste the wiring.

Except for high current applications, larger wire will not contribute much.

The drive motors will be the only thing that could benifit from larger gauge wire but not likely as these motors are low wattage (power) motors of around 15 watts or so. So small gauge wire is more than adequate for this purpose.

Now the battery's ability to deliver power in a short time (mah rating) will be significant. You may see a performance upgrade (longer battery life, more consistent operation) with a higher capacity (current delivery) battery.
