Nickolas -> RE: Venus II (9/10/2006 12:29 PM)

Hi again, Yesterday I first flew Venus, I had about 10 flights (1 gallon of Cool Power[:o]) and I am pretty satisfied by the performance of both the plane and the YS-140. During the first flight the plane seemed to be nose heavy so I put around 1.2 oz (35gr) weight at the tail, it still is nose heavy but I would not rather to add any extra weight. I will try to remove the battery further back. Some notes: - The plane rolls very well and knife edge perfromance is brilliant. Coupling is nearly non existent even in slow/high alpha knife edge - Snaps are crisp and predictable, I thoughy I was incompetent flying snaps precisely but with this plane I don't feel the same [:)] - It seems to be pretty slow in the downlines and general gives the impression of constant speed in the box - The YS-140 is a very good match for flying in a big box, I wouldn't put something less powerful, throttle management is the key though. - Control surfaces are very effective so if you want it for pattern keep your throws to the recommended range. I have set three modes: Normal (recommended large throws), Snap Mode and Spin Mode - The plane did not seem to be influenced by the wind of around 20Km nearly 3bft For the price the plane takes 9.9/10 [:D] Here are some photos.
