Sweet! Always wanted to try the semi thing but never happened. I have started with the RC semis and its a blast. Easier to find a place to run that the boats. Lookin good Jimbo. I bought a semi kit of the tug from Chuck Steffen. Will be my winter project. Beautiful builds guys!

Who started this semi truck thread wiithin a tug boat tread? Uhm...

I goofed! If I had gone the scale rc semi route I would not have needed to spend a few weeks getting my CDL license.
I ended up with a full scale model (or two) semi trucks. It is pretty easy finding full scale models of semi trucks to work on but more difficult to drive by remote control.

Changed gears (hobby) and bought a 1958 351 peterbilt semi truck like the 'Duel' truck in the 1970's Spielberg movie "duel", and another parts truck (1986 359 peterbilt) and I am building a low rider 16,000 lbs cruiser.

Dude that is awesome!!! I have always liked the BJ McKay truck (Kenworth K-100 Cabover)  from that old television show. I had no idea that people took up old semi's as a hobby!! Man you just got the wheels turning in my mind..lol. I'm another one that could appreciate a hobby like that if I didn't have to do it for a living..good to know.

IM going to submit two pictures of works in progress if you guys dont mind. Ive got a flatbed for the green truck that should have lights and sound when its done. The dump truck will actally work with a screw drive as the hydro setup is way outta my price range. Gear motors give them some grunt and you can have lots of working functions. My trucks are nothing in comparison to whats out there. Not hijacking the thread but mybe showing why I cant ever get a boat done. A lot easier to sneak past the wife than a full sized semi.

For the one truck you need to build a boat trailer for it so it can hual a 36" tug!!
