40 oz. run in. APC 17X4W 9,600rpm. Bisson pitts. LHS is out of 17X6. Changed exhaust to Macs header and home made aluminum beer bottle muffler. Momentarily I got 10,200. Whoa! That''s enough of that. As soon as the engine hits 10,000 the muffler pops off. 17X4W is not enough. need 17X6 or 7. Maybe a 18X5 wood.

Does a 18X5 exist besides a Zinger?

APC 16 x 8; Omega 15%; Elevation 4,000 ft. above sea level:
Peak 9,000
Tuned for steady 8,800 WOT
Idle 1,800

I am ordering a Zinger 17 x 6 as well as an APC 17 x 6.
I will be flying my Carl Goldberg Ultimate and OS 1.20 AX with APC 16 x 8 next sunday.

Nice engine.

I started a new 1.20AX fitted with a Jett Engineering Turbo-Jett muffler.

With a Xoar 17x6 wood prop i saw 9,150rpm on the tacho with the engine just breaking into a smooth 2-cycle. I was keeping it deliberately rich for the 1st run to break-in.

Fuel used was 15% nitro, 15% Coolpower oil and 3% Castor.
