Dawgbone,

They are flat bottomed and depending on how things go I will be creating a symmetrical blade in the future. Weight is an issue so I will most likely have to use a new plastic processing method that will alleviate that problem. I will do my best and begin testing sometime in the near future. I have plenty of ideas for new parts. I will keep everyone informed as things develop.

Sparky,
Do you need testers? I'm pretty good at craching.
My pair should be on the way... or is it? I ordered on Wed (ship to Ellenwood, GA)

Just ordered a set today and am excited to try, thinking of putting on my 11 tooth motor to try to counter heavier landing gears I have installed (running Ni-MH batt). Thanks John for the money these blades will save me or should I say thanks for the extra money for other Heli parts

I will post results when I recieve.

If any noobie has not tried these yet you need to get them!!! I will be ordering another set here very shortly. I did a nose dive into asphalt drive from about 3 feet up. I bent my main shaft. Pulled it and straighted it out the best I could and fired it right back up. The blades held up beautifully!!!!! I can praise John enough for these blades. They have already paid for themselves 3 times over.

Hi

Well today I had a pretty bad crash broke the tail boom, bent the main shaft again, and destroyed the head assembly, but the the blades come through with very minor damage.

Sparky, I ordered 2 sets this weekend.

here is a local hobby shop you may want to send a flyer to. I'll take a set in and show them also and to the local flyers club

I bought a set of CF's last month because I was concerned you were never going to come out with those plastics due to manufacturing difficulties.... now they are going to be back up reserves to your plastics

SO LONG HORIZON HOBBY CF's... see yer over priced arses LATER !!! ! lol. 2 sets for the price of 1.... A=OK !

Got my plasti-blades lastnight... tracks perfectly, no more shaky head. Noticed my flight time is about 2-3 minutes shorter, but hover nicely.
I would keep this on.
Config:
Stock bcp
850man 3cells lipo
8t motor with heat sinks.

Well, now that I have these indestructible blades, I’ve been bolder in my maneuvers. Last night, I performed multiple pirouettes. I’ve never tried them before because I wasn’t too keen on buying new blades after a crash.

Well, this morning, I woke up an immediately went outside to practice my new skill. Right out of the box, I lost control and BLAM-O!!! It was a bad one. My Blade lie dead on the ground, split in two with it’s tail facing the same direction as the front. The blades were embedded into the ground.

Damage Control:

New Main Frame W/ Tail Boom (both broke) – $9.95
New Rotor Shaft – $4.99
New Landing Skid – $3.99
New Fly Bar - $3.29

Plasti-Blade which totally survived without any damage – Priceless!!!

-Pilot

P.S. I'm back flying again - I keep a stockpile of part because I know I'm going to get carried away.

guy's , with the new plasti blades i would seriously consider changing your main shaft sheer pin to a softer material.ie copper. with the woodies the steel pin doesn't need to be soft because the force is absorbed on the woodies.i'm just saying something has to give.. i'm thinking a hard enough strike with a hard sheer pin might cause your plastic blades to survive but you'll end up bending other things..my plastiblades are on the way. but in the meantime i'm looking for the proper size copper wire to use..

just my 2 cents.

john have you heard of anyone else changing sheer pins

Pete,

I use music wire instead of the stock pin. With the woodies I was watching the pins bend in crashes. I did not like it so I switched to music wire and kept up with it and it works well. I found wire that fit fairly well and then I put a drop of CA on the ends and hit it with accelerator. It makes a perferct safetyy catch, and you can thumbnail it off when you need to chg the main gear.

Hi

The problem is not the sheer pin, the problem is that E-Flite made the main shaft out of a low grade steel.

that's an interesting statement. the main shaft *does* bend very easily. Has anyone considered taking an oem main shaft to a machine shop and having them make one up out of better material? I may have to approach this angle...
