Pilot352,

I thought I would run a suggestion by you and anyone else who reads this. Would stickers for the plasti-blade be something that anyone would want included in the package? Perhaps small enough to put on the Canopy of the Blade CP. Let me know your thoughts.

Happy Flying

Sincerely,

John Sparks

PS. I might have to send you a check for an autograph Pilot352....LOL

Pete,

I do not have stickers made. I was just asking opinions on if that would be something people would like. That was all. I do not know about the people who already have the Plasti-blade, but I am sure I could work something out. Let me know what you think. They would be small so you could put them on your Blade CP body, or at least that was what I was thinking. They would of course say Plasti-blade.

I don't think there's any obligation to the previous purchasers. I see suppliers adding and taking stuff from the packages all the time. If you buy a new set and get a sticker, great. Maybe jcshobbies can send it free on your next purchase, but I don't think that there should be any reason to send stickers to their old customers.

Anyway, A sticker would be cool, but if you put it on your canopy and then crash, the sticker is gone. Then what?

I might suggest a large sticker to place on your R/C caddy for advertising (like a bumper sticker with your logo on it). It might say something like: "My Blade uses only REAL Plasti-Blade parts"... or something like that. Then put your web address and business phone number on it.

Different subject....

Are these going to come in different colors? You mentioned it early on your web site. Also, will the material accept paint? What kind of paint is recommended? I painted a set of woodies a bright yellow and really liked the look. So, I want to paint these. Is the paint going to adhere?

What kind of paint to use will depend on the type of plastic, I think Trex blades are ABS, but not sure what the plasti-blade is.

Pilot352,

After a quick discussion with my manufacturer it was concluded that any type of automotive or model paint will work fine on the Plasti-Blade. Colors are a possibility fo rthe Plasti-Blade, but adding the colorant will increase the weight and the cost of the part. Paint is more than likely the best way to go. Send me some pics once you are done and I will put them on my website for others to see.

If anyone wnats to send crash pics or any pics at all for that matter I would be more than happy to start a customer pics page.

Thanks everyone,

John Sparks

just to let ya'll know...I got mine in...in which was super fast from the time I ordered them...they look awesome...

Crash pics/vids I can assure .....are soon to come

I think stickers are a cool idea...and I wouldn't mind them when I buy my next pair...but not a biggie otherwise...

Also...I'm big into Nitro monster Truck racing...and although I've never done it...others like to dye their wheels using RIT Dye.. http://www.ritdye.com/ I don't see any reason why the dye wouldn't take on these blades..

Ordered sat. and was flying by Monday night, wow. Well I tried the blades with Ni-MH batt.and eleven tooth motor for better head speed, flew very well and was incredibly stable. Hit coffee table on second batt. (feeling invincible in the house) strait on and very little damage, picked up and tracking was right on. Set back down and was hovering and landing in my hand. John If you make any other parts in the future with the amount of durability these blades have, I will take two.

As far as blades killing other parts, I did strike boom later on (dodging little dog trying to kill heli) I replaced in 15 min. at a cost of $1.00. By carbon rod in 4' pieces at a cost of $5.00, still better than $15.00 blades.

Stickers would be a good source for you to help get your name out there (canopies, part boxes, Tx's).

medic955,

Thanks for the post I appreciate it. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying the Blades. Could I get the site where you get your tail boom rods? I haven't had any tail boom strikes that have casued this problem for me yet, but it would be nice to have some spares lying around. I will work on the stickers. I am also looking to make some more parts in the near future when I get the chance.

If you ever have pics of the blade after a crash, feel free to email them to me and I will post them on my site.

Sincerely,

John Sparks

I just rebuilt my BCP from a crash. Looks like new, but for some reason, the flybar control pushrods fit loosely on the swash, like you said your's were. These are new but still loose, and it not worn balls on the swash, 2 were unused, and all 4 fit the same. After reading your post, I smeared a little silicone sealer over the ball and cup, on the outside. Hopefully that will help it stay on there, and not impede the movement by adding too much resistance. Dennis

John, I bought my carbon fiber rod fron LHS, I will see if I can find where they bought it and as far as pics to see blades lasting, I uploaded a few pics of my son trying to fly in the house. If you can't have fun with it what good is it

PS. Blades won, wall lost and son had fun.

Thanks again!

Corey

I'm back and running!
Drilled out old rod using 5/64" bit and now trying some old carbon fiber arrows I had left over. Just saw a Viper Heli at my LHS and am soon to be adding the CNC frame to the blade.

After my last crash (see above), I bought a brand new CF tail boom and skid set from e-flyte. I replaced only one of the skids and found that both the tailboom and new skid were too long. The skid was about 1/4 inch too long causing the heli to sit on an angle. I then had to replace both skids to even it up. The new tail boom makes it so I can't put the heli in it's box.

What is with E-flyte's quality control? Standards?

I've read in other threads that they also changed the head design. What gives?

John... we need you to make all the parts for the blade. You obviously can do a better job then they can!!
