Shortly after my post Axial called me and he was very informative and we found the issue, Axial stands behind their product and is taking care of me so I wanted you all to know that even know I am having issues they are taking care of their customers. Kudos to AXIAL!

Status: offline 		What we think happened is that their engines manual states that the engine does not require the LSN to be changed at all; myself and several of my race buddies all thought this was insane not to lean the low speed needle but I wanted to follow the manufacturers guide since the motor was brand new and so was the company, as it turns out the motor ran perfectly and we were all amazed that without having to touch the LSN the truck had amazing power and seemed to run just fine, Axial R&D contacted me and informed me that the build up of oil due to the LSN never being leaned led to a possible seal failure, however he asked me to send it in to verify this and assured me that if they could not determine 100% what caused the leak they would replace the motor. I will post the results when I get them from Axial, I am over nighting the engine this morning to them. Note to anyone who purchases one of these, make sure when the motor is properly broke in that you lean the LSN, I knew in my gut that not leaning it was incorrect but I followed the manufacturers manual and the results were not good.

After sending my motor back to Axial they were on top of it as soon as it arrived back to them, I am not sure what the issue was yet due to the fact that I have not received it but so far I can tell you that I will be supporting Axial engines from here on out, I have purchased alot of engines in my time and this is the first company I have dealt with that was responsive to all my emails and phone calls in a timely matter, they received the engine on Wed morning and by thursday it was in the mail back to me via fedex, their customer service was great and that speaks alot about them. I hope they continue to watch forums and help customers with issues, I will let you know when I receive my engine back what was done to resolve the issue. Thanks Axial keep up the good work!

Status: offline 		I dont know if people are still using this forum but if you are, I've tried to put my new axial .28 on to my savage 25 but the spur gear rubs against the clutch bell and I've tried sanding the spur gear but it takes too long and its not exactly a good idea...so I was wondering if anyone knows whats wrong???

He is full of knowledge and is more than willing to share it with you. and desiigns some of the baddest .12 onroad motors. You Axial guys will be happy to know that they are strictly focusing R&d on offroad development. Big things are comming from Axial

Status: offline 		I have the 28 spec 1 on my 25 savage and had no issues using the stock flywheel or clutches. and as of now I have about 2 gallons through the engine. all I can say is that it will stand my savage on end at command. I am glad I put the wheelie bars on.

Status: offline 		I just got the .28. I tried to break in the engine but the pull start broke right away. Axial has been no help to me, the wont write me or call me back. Not even ten small pulls and it broke the return spring. It makes me so mad

Status: offline 		I am pretty new to nitro, i have been looking at the axial engines for a few weeks now, every thing i have heard about them have been great. They seem to be reliable and look like a great deal. The only reason i have not bought one yet is i am not sure what all i will need to complete the transplant into my warhead evo, along with this im not sure what size i should go with the .28 or the .32. Yes it is true the stock engines suck, but the truck itself is pretty bullet proof, once it gets an engine worth a crap it just might be a nice truck. If anyone could tell me what i need to drop it in the warhead evo it would be a great help. thanks ryan

its honestly too bad Edward had nothing to do with the current Axial 28 and 32....I have been eagerly awaiting some offroad motors with Edwards designs..

Status: offline 		the axial 28 will work for most trucks a very torquey mill the 32 tends to be a little insane with the hspower mine ran great with the temp at 260 to 230 get it youll be impressed i raced with it in my truggy with a 16 tooth very good

Sorry to hear you don't like the dyno figures. The differences between the HPI .28 and the Axial .28 Spec 1 S are: Different induction timing, Different crankshaft assy. Different ex port timing, Different transfer and boost port timing, and different combustion chamber shape and volume.
