Seems like I was reading where some of the guys were having troubles getting their starter boxes to work with the new H8. It could have just been them trying to keep the same adjustments on it for two different buggies.

I was thinking of getting the Ofna chrome top, so considering what you said.... it should work fine.

I'm new to buggies 'burgler, but I don't see why not. Might just take a little extra body trimming to get enough clearance.

I have a pullstart on my Max and it works fine. I'm a little sick of it though, so I'm going to go the starter box route on this one.

Did you already order yours 'burgler?

You will need to order an Ofna motor mount (a little taller), but not sure of part number. Take it to your LHS and they will match it up.

I planned on getting a hump pack. I'm not positive if it will fit, but I would guess yes. The box is huge. I can test it tonight. I have a spare hump pack and my receiver.

There was a good post in the Ofna forum about that. I'll quote it:

quote:

ORIGINAL: Hyper7

I finished 5th in the B main with hyper.
with my jammin which the guy didn't take any pics of i finished 8th in the A main
pretty sweet the hyper was a sight everybody wanted to see.

there was 180 entries, track was awsome

i would just like to add, how great the car handled. with the setup i ran the car was awsome, explosive acceleration, head snapping steering.
the stock pipe was ok it would be good for a track where you need a lot of top end.
I put a jp1 on my rb S5, crazy take off. there was a single which you jumped on top of a table top, the table top stretched about 15 feet and had a landing ramp. only a few guys did the whole thing all day. i was amazed during the main when i decided to take it land way on the other side passing two guys. man it was crazy.

if you guys want i'll take some pictures of the car with the body off to show you my brake setup. once you set it, it never loses the brake and always stays the same.
i use the ball cups just like the way the engine throttle hooks up.

the new jammin cr's body works great on the car

chris

Hey Klaus, have you found a compatable starter box yet? And how do those work? do they run on batteries? What kind?

Well, I haven't ordered mine yet, so I don't know for sure but earlier in this thread I asked that question and the consensus was that pretty much any 1/8 scale box should work.

I was planning on going with the Ofna chrome top, like here: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000639095&I=LXCUC2&P=K

Of all the research that I did, I found that having a 12v motor in conjunction with a 12v battery is the way to go rather than 7.2 stick p
