hi guys....just changed my shock spring to those blue one with 55wt at the front. Changed both shock towers to cnc. Noticed that the wing stay was slanted to one side...had the wing stay post replaced as well. So wat do you guys think bout the 55wt?

Hey guys, i want to ask something. Is it supposed that the hyper 8.5's chassis be a littl elonger than that of the standar hyper 8?

Has anyone seen the April 2008 RC Car Action yet? There is an ad in there for the Hyper 8 RTR. It shows a paragraph and picture illustrating that all new Hyper 8 RTR's will now include a kit (chassis, multiple other parts) that will allow you to convert the car to 8.5 specs. I've been thinking about getting a Hyper 8 as my first 1/8 buggy. If I could find a RTR and verify it has the conversion kit in it, that might just cinch the deal!

I do not know about that but Hobao does make a RTR 8.5 just not imported in to the states and it comes with a race legal size engine.

I do not own an 8.5 RTR but do own both the 8 and 8.5 Pro so I am going to guess what else it would take to make it a Pro version. On the Pro the upper deck and the plate over the center diff is carbon fiber where I believe the RTR is aluminum. If I am not mistaken on the RTR the rear have dog bones where the Pro have CVD both front and rear. All so by looking at the pictures on Hobao web site does not seem the RTR has lightened wheel hex with dust proof nuts like the pro. I am all so wondering what the flywheel and clutch is on the RTR comparison to the Pro. Being the RTR is a pull start wonder what the engine mounts are like. All so all the turnbuckle rods are titanium.

Where did you get the 8.5 RTR as they are not imported to the states if I am not mistaken.

If I am not mistaken I do beleive the rear up rights are the same on both. All so going by the pictures on there web site does not seem the RTR has the extra air filter brace.
