Cepede,

able to share where did you get the barebone kit for the #37? Do they sell just only the frame?

Cool, thanks for the replies.
I'm completely expecting to have to tweak until the cows come home to get any cheapo heli flying correctly!

If the DF37 is being discontinued, will finding parts specific to it be an issue?

W37 - looked and looked and looked but couldn't find that comparison. As stock setups, what's the main beef with the DF60 that makes the 37 the winner? Which has a stronger/better head out of the box?

I'm expecting to have to replace/re-fabricate the frame at some stage (what pilot error? ), it looked like the 60 would be easier to remake (brings me back to my r/c car days, where anything Tamiya that got broken ended up being remade with a custom chassis and suspension outta f/glass or alloy).

Thanks all. Got a cheapo Airlark coming in the post this week to give me something to giggle over (also for my daughters to *maybe* fly...always happens when Dad wants a new toy, kids want to play with it too...not with a 330/400 copter tho!), but gonna have to order something "proper" soon.

Does anyone have a setup sheet for DX6? I installed the DX6 yesterday - seems to work fine (have not flow yet) but I have to invert the pitch curve (100, 50, 35) - when I reverse the servos, the cyclic does ot work properly - is this right (i.e. have you had to reverse the pitch curve to get it working?)

I am an “ole guy” beginner with one and a half months experience with helis. My only other RC experience was years ago with fixed wing. I have really enjoyed reading this thread and I think I have learned a lot here. I started out with a E-flite Blade CX2 which is really only enough to get you hooked I would not recommend one to a beginner. As far as I am concerned the coaxial helis are only useful in familiarizing ones self with the remote.

I have been learning on a 22e, Esky honeybee 2, 76c’s and a sim. I think Esky HB 2 cp has been the best heli to learn on up to this point along with the sim, and I have a very long way to go. I can now hover through four or five batteries without dinging a blade.

I’ve bought a DF 37 from RC & Me and I haven’t flown it yet. I’ve crashed a lot in my learning process so I am slowly getting better in the set up and repair end of things. I have printed out W37’s recommended up-grades for the DF37 and I either have the parts or they are on order. I am not going to do the metal head up-grade portion until I become a little more experienced.

One of the things that I have questions on is the AVCS what does that stand for? I know it is the gyro system which I am upgrading to the WK007 but what does the AVCS stand for? What is the simplest set up for a beginner with this unit? I am familiar with the blade tracking and the basic control set up but this AVCS stuff is kind of over-whelming.

Experiences shared by all of you on this thread are very much appreciated by beginners like me. I’ve gleaned most of the information on the AVCS set up on this thread but I think most of it is for the seasoned flyer. Would post 1005 be good enough for beginners or are there any other suggestions. Any help on this AVCS set up for the beginner will be greatly appreciated. As most of you well know the Walkera Manual is only a very basic guide.

Thanks in advance,
C185heavy

HI there c185
Welcome, the DF#37 is very nice machine as you have a little experience you should not have any problem , In my opinion the 37 is not a training heli ,like fixed pitch ones, some people get as first heli but I not recommended!!!!!.

AVCS (ANGULAR VECTOR CONTROL SYSTEM) THIS is the easy way. the gyro G006 works in AVCS mode (Led steady ON). To change gyro's mode, switch the little dip under the led to NOR. When Power On the led after initialization should be OFF. Now you are in Rate (Normal) Mode. Use this mode to adjust linkages and servo's horn. Hover and test rudder trim. If all is oK, and heli is flying very stable,(take your time),then switch back to AVCS. It should works fine.
Note :Avoid using at the same time AVCS and REVO(set to nor also), its better for now swith in tx n#7 rudd mix to off position.
Hope it help.

McDaniel,
Thanks for the information, it really helped clear up my questions on the settings. It will be awhile yet before I fly the DF37 as I want to change out the servos first. I have already had one go out on me on a DF76c and it wasn’t pretty. Also I just ordered the rudder servo.
Thanks again for the help!

Hello all,

I have a walkera# 37 but I think that I have a problem!
Since I'm a newbie, a help will be appreciated.
Look at the movement on the left blade, and check the movement on the right.
Is this ok?
Thank you all!!

Yes its ok.

But you are looking at it the wrong the way.

You can't really see how it works until you power up the blades.

The flybar suppose to be spining in order to make the transition of how much angle of attack the main
blades are doing.. If you are going to run this test.. you must then hold the flybar straight, so that
both blades can achieve the same travel.

It seems to me, that your ZShape holder..could be damaged... its hard to tell.. by looking at the video.
