1. They both have 26cc engines (the MCD also comes without a engine).
2. The MCD is a 4 wheel drive, the FG is a 2 wheel drive.
3. The FG has a greater popularity with much better aftermarket support.
4. The MCD is almost twice the price as the FG.
5. New Era: ****itaboudit.

Egypt is a lot closer to Turky (were MCD is made) than we are so the price difference may not be so great. The NEW ERA savage kit is the worst of both worlds! The kit has the handling of a large scale and matainence of nitro. Personally I think anyone that goes with the New Era kit should have their head examined; but that's just me.

Are you refering to the New Era 1/4 MT you might have seen somewhere? If so, they are no longer in production.

Yes I do agree 250% about the New Era 1/6 kit for the Savage. I seen It up close & personal !

That thing was the biggest peice of crap ive ever seen. If ur looking for a nice shiny shelf Queen, then no other truck beats it ! One solid hit from a FG MT and its lights out for that thing! Dont get me wrong, the truck has plenty of appeal to get u to buy it, but I think the longevity of it was not thought out to well !

As ive said in previous forums, ive owned several 5th scalers and ive always came back to FG ! The quality is decent, parts are plentiful( even though u give up a pint of blood everytime u buy parts ) and mostly, their customer support isnt bad at all ! What more could we ask for ????
(did I hear somebody say cheaper prices and a 4x4 version, LOL)

IMO people who post the "what is better" threads should be insta-banned.

Everyone has an opinion and everyone thinks theirs is the right one.

These threads go nowhere and only invite arguments.

Here's a tip: Do a search of the site and read up on all the trucks. See what others have to say about each one and make your own decision. This invlovles actually doing research and reading numerous threads. Not just posting the same question asked 500 times before because you don't want to do any search work.

Zaza thegreat:

I'm Egyptian, The comparison between the three models you mentioned is extremely difficult the FG mt-5 is Monster truck model with 2 wheel drive, the MCD is 4x4 truck completely new design in terms of handling and designing , the era HSV144 is a conversion kit for savage to enlarge the models and make looks larger scale model.

Judging on which model are better depending on your deriving style and how far you would like to abuse the model, area where you will drive the models and which models you would like to bash with them " surlly you would like to be the fastest"

Without a doubt FG are a durable models, my knowledge base on the private collection I have which included most of their models also I launched FG models to the Egyptian market 1998, the FG MT5 based on Beetle and murder chassis which are available long time ago proven excellent durability. The MCD designed and manufactured in Turkey, I have a chance to tested the M. truck, the performance are great and it is a solid model, also the MCD manufacturing really models which I believe it is a great models, very fast and you can enjoy driving model perform like real really cars, I have a great time driving this model, the new era is out of comparison since what ever the size it is a nitro model.

My recommendation is to wait 2 to 3 weeks and you will be able to see both FG and MCD in Cairo and since I will do life demonstration in Cairo you will be able make a driving test for both models to see which one matching your driving style.

The spare parts will be available, MCD will be more expensive than FG but this is normal since there is too many expensive parts existing in MCD which are not existing in FG as small example , MCD equipped with 3 differentials instead of one in FG.

Please don't hesitate to cmail me at " htawfik3@link.net" for any further assistance

sorry to say this, but MCD should be getting their machining work done in China. (yeah putting on flame suit)
Think about this if they did this they would be able to lower their costs, more people would buy them and in the long run MCD would be making more money. Quality would be the same as long as they had a good shop making the parts(you can get quality aluminum in china if thats what you ask for)

The HPI Baja has proven it self, and its not made in the USA.

How do you guys mix your oil? I've been mixing mine 25 parts of gas to 1 part of oil. But I've heard that some people have been mixing 32 to 1. What brand of oil do you guys think is the best? I've been using vegetable oil but I've heard that some are using lamp oil?? Is that right?

personally i dont like the look of the MCD, the side chassis looks far too big & its looks silly (just my opinion)

but really, FG has been around for years... yes they have some problems from stock but an exra £50 tops will sort all htose problems. Depends what you want really, if you want 4x4 then its MCD, if your not bothered about 4WD then id definately go FG as theres 100's of hop-ups available. Word of advice though, if you do get an FG the MT shell handles much worse then the Monster Beetle shell.

Best bet search these forums & you will find many tips/advice from topics with people who have asked the same question.

I would never give up my FG MB Pro, its strong. powerful & pure fun
