I took that picture of the TC arf and loaded into my photo software and zoomed in on it. I saw what looked like a piece of small, thin, white string that the airplane was hanging from. I gues that is what you call hanging from the prop.

man, I am just kidding. That picture started really getting me convinced to just buy the arf instead of building one. I bet my YS 63 will fly it like a dream. If I could hover that low, and had big brass ones, like captain does, I would be satisfied. untill then I guess I will keep trying, and trying.

what props are you guys running on your saito 72 with this plane.

thanks, Micheal

I am using a Master Airscrew 13 X 6 on my .72 equipped Top Cap
( mines not the ARF )

It really is the perfect combination for this plane.

Heres a pic of it when it had a Webra .50 in it.

I am flying my TC ARF with an MVVS 40 on an APC 10 x 5 prop and all I can say is WOW. All the power plus lots more. Hovering is awesome with tail touches and forward tumbles back to a hover. This plane does it all and this motor is just plain incredible. Great starting, great idle, great response and unheard of power. A winning combination. Phil

well folks, I finally bit the bullet and bought me the TC arf. It is suppose to be in by wednesday of next week. The guy I talked to told me he flies his with a rossi 45. He said the rossi 45 would take the plane out of sight. I plan on putting my YS 63 4 stroke on it. right now I plan on using standard JR's servo's with 600mh batt. pack.

Patients is a virtue.... one of which I was not amply endowed with.......

Hey I found out I had my SuDoKhoi way tail heavy... the most aggressive CG spot was 5 1/4 from the leading edge... I had it at 5 3/4!! I move the battery up front and it fly’s way better... the MVVS .40 is still getting dialed in.. but it's hovering much better.

A friend just got The Knife ARF and the fuse was warped. Check your TC when it arrives. Morris SHOULD send you a new one, if yours is bent.

I got my top cap arf in last week. I am going to start putting it together tonight.

I am very satisfied with the quality. So far every thing looks real good. I don't think it will take me long to put it together. 3 nights tops, I hope. I want to fly it this week on my day off.

I will keep you posted on the assembly. The instructions are not for the beginner though. They leave out alot of small steps. but if you have put a couple of arf's together, built a plane, or have some common sense this plane will go together with ease.

thanks,
micheal

All I have to do is hook up my pull-pull on my elevators, install my engine and balance, set my control throws and I am done.
I am real pleased with how it is built. The covering job is good. This is one arf where all the parts come with it. The only thing I replaced was my fuel tank. I am using a YS 63, So i put in a hayes tank. If I was going to run anymotor than that I would use the stock tank.
Where is everybody's CG. I plan on putting mine about 4.5, 4.75.
I will have an 8 oz tank. I wanted to go w/ 6 oz but I didn't have one.
Hitec-225 on rudder, elevator, throttle.
standard BB JR 517 on Alerons, 1100mh batt.
I weigh everthing on my old fruit scale, It looks like it is going to weight just a tad over 4.5 lbs. I don't think my fruit scale is to accurate though.
so far I am completely satisfied with this plane.
The instructions only hit the high spots. It doesn't tell you everything step-bystep like some arfs. If you have built or put a couple of arfs together it won't be a problem.

You gonna fly it this weekend?? I wanna see!!! My SuDoKhoi came out to 4.5 lbs as well.... Mine was heavy due to the neon covering.... I have my CG at 5 1/4... I like right there... I also have some right thrust built in....

I've gotta remount my engine with stainless bolts and heal the landing gear... I also need to do some reinforcing at the wing - fuse area....

I finally got my top cap arf done. My CG came out at 5.
I weighed it on my old fruit scale it weighs 4.5lb. better than I expected.
Can anybody tell me what rates I need to use. My; book says I use only about 1/2 of elevator for intial flight. I don't think that is enough.

I went by a book least week for rates on intial flight on my GP Cap. Well my $400 plane bit the dust on intial flight because I didn't have enough throw in the alerons to get it trimmed. My Cap lasted about 10 seconds in the air. Bit the dust, never to be repaired. That HURTS.

Set it and forget it!! Full throw all around!! no dual rates no problem. This thing flies so sweet with full throws. I've let a number of student pilots fly this thing and they had no problem! They were amazed at the control athority, yet had no problem keeping it right side up. I had them performing loops and rolls at 1/4 throttle. They had never done any of that with thier trainers.

The trick to reducing the control responce, is simply throttle back. If the plane (YOU) starts getting twitchy, throttle back! Everything slows down. These flight controls are designed for SLLLLooooooooow flight.

Have fun! let us know how it goes.
